Red chili no beans made with two pounds of hand cut sirloin. You don't really think that real cowboys used hamburger meat. The chihuahua also had a big plate of it. Guajillo peppers are the star of the show Scoville 2,000-5,000 SHU.

My cousin in Park City UT sent me another box of "Kodiak" brand pancake mix. Fortunately, this does not have pumpkin in it. It is made there and she likes to send me the local food products. The last box of mix, I burned in the woodstove.

Pods I am not a troglodyte. I hear some folks buy a box chili kit but they probably live someplace like Linden.

Tonight I used some of the leftover ham. Sliced it thin, put it on two pieces of Tuscan garlic loaf, layered on some sharp cheddar, and grilled that bad boy in a frying pan. Served with some fig jam on the side. Delicious.

The last box of mix, I burned in the woodstove. We still have a couple of boxes. I hate to waste food, but in this case it seems like the best option.

A small roast leg of lamb. Many garlic cloves in slits. Much pepper and rosemary. Came out nice and rare. It has been a very long time since I have had one of these. Roast potatoes, roast carrots. A nice "Primitivo" from Puglia to drink.

My girls made a big Sunday dinner, with the main dish being some kind of oven baked casarole with chicken, a creamy sauce, potatoes and cheese. It was really good, so I ate a lot. Therefore, Im going for a light supper. Having a bowl of granola cereal.

Fried chicken from Walmart. Went to get the turkey rolls and they didn't have any. Bought a small piece of turkey breast and a small ham instead. On the way out the fried chicken reached out and jumped in the basket.

Two cups of my Red Lentil Vegetable Soup followed by a cold roast lamb sandwich. Cold, all that garlic inserted really comes through!

How I wish my house had a railroad siding and for hopper car delivery. Then I could scoop out cat kibble with a shovel.

Tacos made from the leftover chili all I had to do was chop up some fresh pico and grate some cheese and warm up some tortilla's over a open flame. Paper plates in the trash and cleaned the Dutch oven.
