I scrambled 4 eggs with onion and cheese and wrapped them in a couple of tortillas, but this time I tried some new seasoning, something called Tajin that my daughter brought in. It was a nice change, although too much of it would probably end up being pretty bad Tajin is my standard seasoning rub for barbeque and pan grilling. Great stuff.

Sirloin stew made from the things that need using up celery, carrots , saved up corn, the lone potato, the last bit of green Cholula , the lone tomato, the last garlic clove. shallots. Cooking low and slow now that the meat has browned. Perhaps cornbread is in order to make a complete meal on a cold and rainy day.

Neighbor just dropped off a few pound of elk stew chunks and strips. Probably from the hind quarters. Good meat to stew, braise or jerk. Who knows? Maybe I will make a whole bunch of mini CFS.

I've had some Tajin in my cupboard for 3 or 4 years. Haven't found a use for it yet.

Had to run to the hardware store and on the way back I stopped at DQ and picked up a couple of pints of chicken and dumplings for lunch. It really hit the spot on a cold, rainy day.

Tried the breakfast baconator from Wendy’s. It was good but I would have gotten it without the cheese.

Instant BBQ. (Heresy, but anyway...) Some slices of mesquite smoked turkey breast chopped fine. In a pan with Sweet Baby Ray BBQ sauce. Get it hot, pile it up on slider buns. Time to make? Ten minutes if you are REALLY slow.

No idea where to get a good bagel in the new area, but I can live without them if I have to. Let's face it. Bagels are hopeless in Flyover Country. It cannot be done by Gentiles, sorry. They lack the genetic material needed. What is offered in supermarkets is a disgrace. We did have a decent bagel bakery in Toad when I first moved here. "Aha", you say. "Proof that one need not be Jewish to produce a proper bagel", say you. Turned out, the proprietor, like many of the settlers of Taos, is descendant of Sephardic Jews. Sadly, as with all other independent bakeries, he could not compete with the supermarkets on price and had to close. I see real bagels offered on "Goldbelly.com" but they are expensive.

Lunch was Green Chile Lamb Stew.
Lamb cut from the leg I roasted before Thanksgiving. Sauteed in olive oil and pan juices. Than added to some of the Green Chile I made recently. This is a real treat. The only other times I have had it was at the Navajo restaurant in Gallup NM.
Nice big meaty bone is going to some lucky dog. Maybe saw it in two for both of them.

The wife wants a couple of pygmy goats for the yard. I said only if we can eat them. I have. I am currently down to one ewe I rasied from a lamb. I have wanted to have her bred for years but it is difficult to find someone with a ram who will cooperate. I probably should buy a ram. More mouths to feed!! I would not recommend Pygmy goats. They are predator bait. I suggest a few Boar Goats. Smallish African meat goats. Easy to deal with. Get a mama with one or two kids or buy all the kids from a mama goat. They work better together that way and are easier to handle. I am sure you have someone in your area who raises Boar Goats.
