Honey Ham fried in a skillet with a fried egg on top and an English muffin underneath...followed up with a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll...now I am stuffed and heading out to the porch for a smoke. "Baby" at my side...life can't get any better than this. "Baby" ^^^^^^

Speaking of indoor grills, we got our kids the Ninja 302 for Christmas, in store they sell for $179, and the wife had a 30% off coupon and earned $50 in Kohls Cash. It gets really rave reviews and is a pretty hot item. It grills, air fry, roast, bake and dehydrate. It sears at 500 degrees, so it should work great for steaks. We have an air fryer and a dehydrator on the counter, had we not already had them we would have thrown another one in the cart. www.kohls.com/product/prd-3874658/ninja-foodi-5-in-1-indoor-grill-with-air-fryer-roast-bake-dehydrate.jspAs luck would have it, my wife was looking at a Ninja Flip-Away Air Fry/Convection Oven. I told her about this and we checked them out a Kohls today. They were out of stock, so I bought one on Amazon. Two day free delivery! (With Prime) The one we bought is the 301 model. The only difference is that the 302 comes with 5 metal kabob skewers (and maybe a small basket for the kabobs). We love our air fryer, but were looking for something bigger. Thanks for the heads up.

Red Lentils in the last of the Thanksgiving Turkey stock .
I may have to do another Turkey. They are so useful..
I have a Pit Barbeque Ham coming from southern Mississippi the end of the month. That will come in handy. Pricey but mighty fine.

Unlimbered George again tonight for another of my ersatz panini. This time with some prosciutto I needed to offload. Did it first, about eight slices piled together. Then transferred them to buttered slices of seeded rye along with some sharp cheddar and popped it all back in George for the finish. Cheddar not the best choice for the job but I had nothing else on hand. Very good.

Didn't have breakfast this morning, I got an emergency call first thing as I was rolling out of bed that someone needed a ride to to the hospital. Threw on my clothes, grabbed a cup of coffee as I was headed out the door.
Got home around noon and fried myself a hamburger, no bread.
Shweetie is running the Food Pantry tonight, so supper will be light too. I'll probably just scramble some eggs...no toast. Im finally back in full swing on the diet. Gotta lose the 6 or 7 lbs Ive gained the last month. If I dont get in front of it, it'll get away from me and I'll be back at square 1.
Mostly on the diet I eat protein. Meat, eggs, cheese etc. I try to eat very little bread, potatoes, pasta and such. It works for me, but its not easy in this house full of great cooks. 🙂

That was the first time I had White Castle, it was alright not impressed. To enjoy White Castle, you have to had the entire experience. It is 1967, Fast Food joints are few and far between. It is a February night. Deep snow, dark and cold. Everything is closed up. You and your pals have been out partying or working. Your hunger grows as you trudge through the snow facing a bitter wind. Then, up ahead, you spot the white shiny tile like exterior of a White Castle. The odor of frying meat and grease cuts through the dark and the wind. Soon, you throw open the door and a blast of warm, odorous air greets you. Getting to the counter, you pass over a $1 bill and in exchange are given TEN little Burgers. Bread, meat, diced onions. They have been steamed and they are hot. You move to an empty corner and, along with your friends, are revived. Life is good again. Today, there so many other choices. The Old Castle has lost its charm.

At least to me, when I started reading John, it came to me in Rod Serlings voice. When White castle opened a few years ago here, the hoopla surrounding the place was like when Krispy Kreme hit the west coast. People were standing in line for hours, extra cops had to be on duty handling traffic control. I knew all of that was overhyped by the herd mentality, mostly driven by Chicago people trying to re-live the moment.
