Do you guys have Hardee's? Pretty much the same as Carl's Jr.

For some reason Carl's did not go over in the Houston are despite the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger being the greatest thing since canned beer and sliced bread. Reheating the leftover ribs while making wild rice with diced baby carrots and other odds and ends from the fridge. I am also very tempted to heat up the whole grain batard or at least some dinner rolls with some whipped butter and honey. That is what I am talking about.

I believe we have five locations in Houston for Carl's Jr left many years ago there where Hardee's in San Antonio. Peoples taste in food can vary a lot depending on what coast you are on. Houston also sells the worst donuts made by a outfit called Shipley's they had to pay Krispy Kream to leave the area. Now Krispy and Duncan are back but still no Winchell's donuts a west coast icon.

Shipleys are the best ever. I used to eat a dozen while they were still hot. There must be some reason they keep running the competition out of town year after year. I know a couple of Carl Jr's that are doing good business. I miss having a Culver's near me. The old hamburger chains were really good, Someburger and Chuckwagon, but they went away years ago. Burgerfresh is really good and there are a bunch of great individual hamburger joints. When any fast food joint tries to match a stand alone hamburger joint, they're going to come up short.

The Krispy Kreams the first time around were run by Lone Star Donuts and there was a lawsuit way back in 2006.

Never heard of Lonestar or Jumbles. The KK down the street from us was doing great business, had a line 24/7 until they moved the manager who is my neighbor. Their management is insane. He is still with them, but he's also suing them.

I just pulled the St. Patricks Day boiled dinner from the slow cooker. Corned Beef, Gold potatoes, carrots and cabbage. Horseradish sauce. I must have eaten over a pound of Corned Beef. Dang is that good. Why do I not cook this more often???>?>??

What looked like a large 4 pounder going into the pot emerged much smaller.

Petite filet mignons and a 1/2 pound of nice shrimp shell on with a very spicy dry mix. Waiting for the wife to get off the phone from endless mindless meetings on the phone as she is working from home. Then off to the new charcoal grill the mess goes.
