Fried okra in the air fryer. This doesn't work well. Squash casserole, steamed cauliflower and frozen fish fillets. The filets are good in the air fryer. Just took an apple pie out of the oven. Carry on.

Raisin toast with cream cheese. I had okra yesterday properly deep fried in Magnolia tejas along side a chicken fried steak with brown gravy that I think they deep fry. I also split a salad with my wife because I like to do my part to save the plant with a plant based diet. I also eliminated part of a farting cow helping to lower Co2 levels. It feels good doing my part to help save the planet.

That is what I had every time I visited our client in Midland and ate in their "Executive Dining Room". I used to bring my own mini-bottle of Tabasco Sauce to make it eatable.

The gravy is properly made with a lot of black pepper. And it's the proper gravy for chicken fried steak in Texas. Edit : You have been in NM so long that you have burned out your taste buds. 40 years ago I really enjoyed NM food, before the entire population went on the "hotter is better" train.

My visits to Midland were long before ever setting foot in New Mexico.
Might have burned out my taste buds from Thai in California!
My observation is that folks in West Texans pride themselves in the moral virtue of bland white gravy for their CFS and CFC. I had no idea that a Brown Gravy could be served. The things we learn here.

Had to make a plate of Ham and Eggs with fried taters. Just because it is Sunday and it is too cold to do much. Now to sit by the fire and work the NY Times Crossword Puzzle.

And this I why I order the brown gravy because over flowered white gravy is best reserved for biscuits. I can only save a few texicans each year but I do what I can.

Today was really badly done mexicant food at a very busy place in Conroe after getting the rear tires installed. A restaurant only needs to do one thing to do well, make good tasting food. Oh well New Mexico is not that far to drive for good mexican style food. But I digress.

Psycholime just loves to complain.

Starting out this Zero degree (F) morning with a pot of Yorkshire Gold Tea, which is not as good as their regular tea IMHO. A whole wheat naan, split and toasted. Might have two!

Sausage rolls, chips and baked beans.
Of course the chips were covered in cheese, mayo and tomato ketchup.

Sausage rolls, chips and baked beans. Of course the chips were covered in cheese, mayo and tomato ketchup. Wow! That sounds good. I hope you added a dollop of mayonnaise to crown those chips! I made another big pot of bean soup with Bolito Beans, lentils, Split Peas, Brown Rice, Quinoa, Barley, Chicos, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, previously cooked cabbage that was fine diced to dissolve into the liquid. Parsley, Bay Leaves, Sage, Rosemary. There is a handful of very fine diced smoked ham from long ago.

Toshtego, Looks like we both value a good bowl of soup...your bean soup makes me want to brave the low temps of NM. Stay warm, my friend!!!

Put a couple of huge racks of pork ribs in the oven to slow cook. Went to the store and Kroger had fresh pork chops for 99ยข/lb. Only room in the freezer for one package though as it's full of steaks, roasts, hamburger, chicken and who knows what else. I had to clean out the bottom basket to make room.

I at a little over a half rack of the falling-off-the-bone ribs. Not much room for vegetables. ๐

I'm rotating the current product out of our upright freezer; there's an eighteen pound turkey thawing on my counter. Some Deer meat, pork, and chicken, but very little beef except for Omaha Steak items that came to us as gifts still wait to be used, all in good shape ,I hope, but we'll see. Tomarrow I'll rearange the shelves and try to empty the basket. There's veggies and baked goods and pie crusts and such...I try to keep it dated and rotated, but something always slips by. I'm planing on more freezable items ,in the garden, this year ,like greens and peppers and such, now that I no longer work at Kroger ,and don't run across the deals I once did.

The basket on our freezer was full of stuck on pizza dough from 10 years ago. The meat was almost depleted a month ago, but then the sales at Kroger got irresistible.

Not much room for vegetables. ๐ sounds mighty tasty...I've been wanting to give the Instant -Pot a try with ribs...we've been happy with the I-P for rice, dried bean, and even cooking pork or deer for bar-b-q, but ribs will be the real test!

These were way too big for the Insta-Pot. The oven is still the best way to cook some things. I will be doing another pot roast in the I-P next week.
