Already have two installed. This unit replaces a Onan that bit the dust and I never how you say it, rig any thing. If you cant do something right the first time. How are you going to find time to make it right. We see it all the time in the gulf coast. Generator in the garage with the extension cord running through the open door into the kitchen. Even slower is the laundry room set up with the dead man cord going to the dryer plug in.

Get a CO2 alarm and set it by your bed, don't temp it, Laura killed more down here with Gens. Good advice!

50 years ago the town in Carolina that I live in now was a small farming town.It had a few hundred folks in town and some more in surrounding farms..Then the electric company built a dam in the river and created a huge lake..Now the town has 40,000 folks, and it's growing every day..Just land with no house on the lake cost a million dollars an acre..If you don't know what an acre is it's roughly 200 feet by 200 feet..A good many 2 million dollar houses on that lake..Some as much as 7 million..Every thing is private property now..No place to fish unless you have a boat..I guess that's what folks call progress. I just read on NBC news that 2,000 acres of farm land is being developed each day in this country..That adds up to over 700,000 acres per year. And THAT'S why we moved 250 miles away from Houston. A lot of the properties around here are returning to nature.

The refrigerator is dead. Cooling coil was routed into the drip pan guaranteeing that it wouldn't last 20 years before the tube corroded. Obvious planned obselesence. So we had to go into the City of Texarkana to Best Buy to buy a new refrigerator. Thing is that all refrigerators are back ordered and we will have to wait 3 weeks for the soonest delivery of one we would not buy if we didn't really need a refrigerator. $2100!😕🤬🤠

Ron, that’s why I coached wife into buying a Speed Queen washer, the start button had to be massaged to start washing cycle, availability was on my mind as box stores were saying delivery times were 2 to 3 weeks, my small home town dealer had a Speed Queen but told me they were having slow down in getting their goods. So I convinced her for the Speed Queen even though she liked the flashyer Asian models. Speed Queen last.

Ron are you going to get the harvest gold or avocado one like last time? My wife wanted the black stainless but that would be delivered the end of November. So, it's just stainless. Our last one was white.

We had to buy the Insignia (Best Buy house brand made by LG.) We also bought a 3 year extended warranty. That and the haul off and long distance delivery ran the price up. 24 months same as cash. Buy the time the warranty runs out we can buy whatever we want.

Warmed up to 40 degrees here.
Heavy overcast. Could get more rain this afternoon and snow this evening. Then it is supposed to warm back into the 70s with sunshine. I am not complaining!

Ours is 5 years old, we paid $2k, at two year the whole ice maker system had to be replaced. Last month the damper and internal board that controls it had to be replaced. $500. Don't even THINK of getting a dumb fridge that has no electronics/computer. They don't exist. And if they do, they UGG LEE.

We got a side by side black stainless GE , wife likes the black but misses her French Door with Deli Drawer, that booger cost me 3200$ and didn’t last 7 years, it was a Samsung. Son that moved back to Houston has an old top freezer Box, told wife if his craps out, I’ll give him this one and buy you a French Door Model like you have. Ain’t love grand.!

We were looking at a Samsung and the sales girl warned us off of them. I guess I'm spoiled by the $379 GE that lasts 50 years.

Guy took down an oak tree today and when I saw the wood I was amazed at the grain. I could have done the whole house in quarter sawn oak out of that one tree. Instead I had him cut it into 2 foot links for a backstop for my backyard shooting range. I don't have anything that can shoot through 2 feet of oak. I could load some 400 grain Maximum Penetrator to 2200fps in the 45/70, but it would hurt too much and ruin my backstop.

It must be 20 years old. Came with the house. I bet it lasts another 20 years (knock on wood). Our repair guys that took care of the "good" fridge said to expect about 8 years out of a fridge. The husband of one of my wife's best friends does our appliances, so I trust his shop. As much as I like to take advantage of modern technology, there are some things they just don't need to mess with. Although, I guess, my energy bill likes the newer appliances, but then I have to replace them that much sooner. So, who wins? The appliance companies.

I'd beg you for a couple rounds cut about 6" thick from some of the larger branches to make bowls out of on my lathe.

Watching the weather channel with 4 depressions/storms possibly to involve us...got the generator set up and ready...or if it is serious enough, we will evacuate. I've learned to get the hell out if a storm is heading my way.

Yet the fires rage in California. Many folks just sitting on edge of their chairs waiting to see if they get evac orders. These firemen have been working day and night for many weeks now without a break. I admire their commitment to the community. They are real heroes. They are doing everything they can to save lives and livelihoods. God bless them.

Yep, I hate to remove trees, but sometimes it has to be done. No fire danger here, but they were in the way. That big oak was only 25 years old. There was a half inch between each of the last 12 rings. That's pretty fast growing. We get 50 inches of rain here, more than Houston, so no fire danger for now. If we get a drought then all bets are off.

Back from my soda run I do love me a soda from Sonic during happy hour after 2:00pm and my dog makes sure to tell me everyday that it is time to go for a ride. Another day under 90 degrees if this keeps up I am going to start wearing something other than a g-string as formal attire.

We had mighty winds on Tuesday, 70 MPH gusts.
Took down the left fork of a large Siberian Elm. No damage. The tree is right up next to a historic two story adobe building erected in 1850. Fortunately, the tree is on the leeward side of the building. It needs to come down. The canopy has spread way out with long widow maker limbs. With half the tree gone it is out of balance and a hazard. It is a happy tree but just to big now. I pruned it years ago and it should have been topped recently. I taking down green trees but this one is a must.

You can blame New Mexico Gov Tingley from 1930 for promoting that darn tree for the whole state.
