Just FYI...while it's good to keep Ron and his wife in your prayers (she needs all the prayer she can get, living with Ron), it's Kelly who has COVID-19.

That's right. Currently I am just suffering with poison ivy and ant bites, arthritis and other things that make me miserable but won't kill me. Still, I'll take all the prayers I can get. 🙏😇😁🤠

Ron leaves of three let it be and take a oatmeal bath or something and don touch your …… you know. We have vines as thick as your arm climbing our trees in several places. I cut several with a machete and thought I was being careful. I will wait until January and wear coveralls, gloves and a face shield to finish the job.

Been to the medic and got a cortisone shot. Now at the pharmacy waiting on the prednisone. I hate that stuff! But I hate itching more.

Spray Poison Ivy with Brush Killer to get rid of it.

Taking in someone who has faced hardships and in whom you see some future...takes a good man to do that...congratulations on what you have done, perhaps you have made that certain difference in his life where he can get things turned around. Speaks well of your faith in mankind.

As for me, no smoking the last week nor foreseeable future. I was in the N.M. Mountains last week @ 9000 ft. Thought I had altitude sickness, home is 3100ft. By Wednesday, smoking wasn’t doing much for me, I think I quit that eve, but don’t clearly remember. Long and short of it, I got home Friday evening, pretty much a wreck. Monday morning, my wife and I both tested positive for COVID. This after we’ve been very careful, limiting exposure, wearing masks, etc. The good news is that while we are both symptomatic, it could be much worse. Our Doc is on top of it, we are quarantining at home, taking meds, drinking lots of fluids (not Laphroiag), and trying to balance getting a little work done without falling over. But no smoking; it doesn’t even sound good. Bottom line, this is really weird stuff, it messes with your mind as well as your body. It is not to be trifled with; anyone who claims differently is at best incredibly ill informed and at worst a lying fool. You know the worst part? Besides the obvious COVID possibilities? I’m missing the best smoking weather of the year, now that is a bummer. I’ll keep you all posted. No need for responses BTW, I trust you all wish us the best! Sorry to hear it Kelly. I had it. Got over it about 7 or 8 weeks ago. Didn't smoke for over a month or so. My wife and daughter had it too. They got over it in 2 weeks. It took me 3 weeks to kick it. Tylenol was like a miracle drug for me while I was sick. I took the max dose for nearly 3 weeks. Two tablets every 6 hours. It did wonders for the symptoms (headache, fever, muscle ache, chest tightness, ...). I needed Afrin too - to clear my sinuses - about twice a day - once just before bed. Take care.

Just cut those pine trees down. You and I both know they are just a giant weed maybe plant some nice magnolias or some fruit trees.

If it not on the house about a thousand each less if the tree cutter is hungry and we both know they always fall on structure. Just because you traded hurricane ally for tornado ally...………...

We're not in Tornado Alley. We are 4.7 miles away from the eastern edge. 🙄🤠

Well, that's less than I thought, but I really like the trees. They have been here a lot longer than I have and are probably a lot wiser too. I didn't expect to live this long and getting crushed by a giant pine tree beats a lingering death in a nursing home. Plus, because of the additions to the house, the old house has double walls on 3 sides.

Wide awake at 0500 it is warmer this morning by 20 degrees a sure sign that a hurricane is getting nearer. I read that in a book about the Beaumont oil boom written by two guys that lived through that era. Any way several times one of the writers father would say it is time to go about two days before a storm made landfall. Not sure if makes any sense but so far this year it has held true.

I had a $200 vet bill yesterday that was fun. Today after I do my banking, I will be heading over to the antique store. That will be fun. 😉

Plus, because of the additions to the house, the old house has double walls on 3 sides. I always keep on eye on the health of my trees. If the pines start to brown at the upper most top they may be dying. Takes a couple of years but if you see that best to call an expert in. Might be something they can do to stop the progress. We've had a lot of tree disease in Northern California over the past few years and it has killed thousands of trees. That's probably contributed to the fire hazard.

The poison ivy infested trees look perfectly healthy. We have a huge sweetgum that has a rotten core, but it's still alive and far enough from the house that we aren't worried about it. If it falls it will go into the pond or the vacant property next door. I am concerned about a couple of Cyprus trees that are completely choked by the wisteria vines.

The kids and the grandson spent the afternoon and evening with us. Doing art with the 10 year old grandson, watching Gravity Falls, eating pizza (and a single adult beverage for the adults). Today, more traffic tickets and taking the old car to the mechanic.

Woke with a migraine like headache. A bit of Aspirin and ibuprofen and a nap, and its gone but I'm still foggy so good that I stayed home. (I know, not supposed to take those two together but it worked, and didn't eat my stomach. I don't make a habit of it.)

Headed to Idaho on Monday to spend some time with my sons and my grandbabies. I need a little unwind time. I have two tires on the F350 with slow leaks, and decided to stop in at the shop and get them fixed before I go.
Of course, one of the leaks is on the driver's side inside dually.
