Afternoon all. Been a busy weekend. 2 friends from our quaran-team over on Friday for drinks, dinner, and chat. Then yesterday evening was the very much abbreviated version of our yearly ThanksMas Party. Traditionally it's around 50 people in and out through the night. Last night was just 6 of us total. We enjoyed a nice intimate dinner, and drinks and singing/listening to Christmas music after. This morning was some final cleanup from the weekend inside, and this afternoon I got the yard squared away for the winter. I think it is great that you were able to have a few close friends and carry on your tradition. It sounds awesome! There is a mandate in our county that tries to ban us from having anyone who does not live with us inside the home π€ Apparently first offence is a $500 fine. We had a family over last night for dinner. It was so nice to be able to connect with friends again and see how much fun all the kids had together (we have 4 kids + 1 on the way) and they have 4 as well). I'm not saying this to be divisive, but after having limited contact with close friends for so long, it's such a refreshing time to share a meal and spend time together.

We are told not to take Christmas off no holiday pay no overtime. No thank you no nothing. You take the holiday off you are fired! They blocked the 23rd 24th and 25th out this year. We can not use our personal leave days during those days. That is why train crews have nothing polite to say about Union Pacific. So I am glad some companies still treat thier employees well. Hope you all work for one of the good ones or are retired. Wow... I never knew about the dog eat dog attitude in the rail industry. Sure hope the company you work for treats their employees well and with respect. You should watch the educational movie, Blazing Saddles about the cutthroat railroad business. And you know what they did to John Henry! Seriously though, #nightking we will say a prayer for you on Christmas. I hope you get a chance to make it up somehow.

For me, December 7, is a day we should reflect upon vigilance, preparation, organization and courage. It is a day we should take stock of our national situation. Certainly, we remember those who lost their lives that day and that the cost of our freedoms is high. We continued to pay in Beirut in 1983, on the USS Cole in 2000, in NYC in 2001. Those are just the big ones I can remember.
Anyway, many of us here grew up in the shadow of December 7, 1941. The Greatest Generation is about gone. We, their sons and daughters, are the next and maybe the last generation to feel a connection to this day. Which is why we should make the day something significant to be remembered for all times and to continue learning from.

I have a Flag that was struck over The Arizona, my daughter got it for me when she was in the Air Force. Present situation it may not make the news today. Sad!

This is the way it always is and never should be. New generations forget, ignore, and live to repeat the same errors over and over again. The cycle of history.

I read a statement that was made by a fella who was liberated from a concentration camp towards the end of the war...He said the most wonderful sight he's ever seen was the American Flag coming down the road that day.

Typical day, ordinary wet weather, clouds, and the only interesting thing is that this should be my 250th post.

For a Monday this was a dang good day. Work went well, though typical of my Monday I didn't get nearly as much as I wanted finished. Home is peaceful as I can expect, and I'm sitting here in a warm dry home with food in my belly. Must be pretty rich even if my income suggests otherwise.

Beautiful and sunny 61 degrees here today. I got finished trimming out of shop-in-the-barn. Got it masked and ready to start painting in the morning.

It was cold this morning, but warmed up a bit later on. Was busy all day moving a bunch of stuff out of one storage and into another storage about 30 miles away. It more than one trip with a 16' horse trailer. But we got it finished.
Ive got my best buddy up from Texas for a week. Tomorrow were gonna pick up Shweetie's car from her work and take it in to get studded tires mounted. While they're doing that, were going to go around and "geo cache". He's really big into that, so Ill take him around while he navigates. Then we'll pick up the car and return it before she gets out of work.
I dunno. But that's how were gonna spend the day.

High of 53Β° with a low tonight of 43Β° here in central north Florida...actually closer to Ga. than sunny Fla. Enjoying a smoke of the porch with the "baby" doll next to me. Congratulations Ronv69 on your painting job.

The day is about done. It was a pleasant 50Β° today. Im back at the shop to pick up Shweetie's car with new studded tires. After 3 hours, its still not quite finished.
Drove my friend and his 15yo daughter around today while they found a bunch of geo-cache spots. I couldnt see the draw in it, but they enjoy it and I enjoy their company, so it was a good day.

Unloaded the trailer and have the workbenches in place, but I still need to put up some shelves and sort things out. Probably another couple of weeks of work.

I tried the new CBD gummies that came in the mail yesterday, and all I can say is that they are very different from the other CBD I've been taking. More like something from Alice B. Toklas. Good thing I was going to bed and nowhere else. Listened to music until 3am.

I ask because I have arthritis and looking at a different approach besides meds. Iβve tried ointment, holistic approach, copper infused gloves for my hands etc with little effect. The meds work but itβs hard on my system and need to constantly drink tons of water to flush it out.
