weeks are busy enough during this strange period - getting everything prepared, filmed, edited, uploaded etc. etc. But today I also have a wedding to do which pushes things to the extreme. Numbers are dropping for the online services too - I think the novelty has worn off But I'm off on annual leave next week so I can't wait for that. Might go surfing for the first time in YEARS! I'm sorry. I have just been so busy with moving that I sleep late on Sundays and spend the rest of the week catching up. I still need to finish the Beatitude series. I'll get back to it soon, I promise!

Since I ended up with a .44 mag Ruger Deerfield carbine, I probably do not need the M1 Carbine. If I cannot settle the problem with five rounds of .44 mag, I am in over my head. Especially with a Redhawk for backup. I have a Marlin Camp 9 that looks like a Ruger 10/22 on a steroid or 2. Not a threatening gun at all. Even with the 17 round magazine. I can still handle a pistol, but I am ready for when I can't.

One of my sons called me this morning. He said he had a bolt stuck in his tire. He drove it to the tire shop and I picked him up and took him home. He works midnight shift and needed to get to bed. The car spent the whole day at the shop and just before closing they called and said they couldn't repair it and didn't have a tire to replace it with - and it was too late to have one delivered from their warehouse. My son needed his car, so we picked it up and brought it to my house to see if I could plug it. The guy at the shop said he wasn't allowed to plug the tire because it was too worn - but suggested I find someone who could. And I just happen to keep a plugging kit in my truck just in case. I've plugged many tires. It wasn't a bolt, but a self tapping screw with a hex head on it. It made a worse hole than a nail would have though. So I decide to use 2 "rope" plugs instead of one. Couldn't push 2 plugs in by hand at the awkward angle we had to work with. Ended up turning the tire so the hole was at the top and stuck a short 2x4 into the wheel well as a lever. Were able to force the tool/pugs into the tire easily then. Now it's holding air just fine. It'll be fine for in-town driving until next Wednesday when he's getting 3 new tires. (He had to replace 1 a few months ago.) I'm buying the tires for him. He needs to catch a break.

Busy day. Son had a punctured tire I had to help him with in the morning and again in the afternoon. Babysat my grandson for a hour - but he he slept all the time I was there so that was easy. Prepared 2 rifles for the outdoor range tomorrow. An AR15 and a 9mm carbine. Put a reticle sight and brass catcher on both of them. Picked out ammo to use to sight them in with, and more reloaded ammo to practice with. Packed up the range bag. Finally was able to sit down and relax at 8:30 pm.
Supposed to be slightly cooler tomorrow. That'll make shooting more enjoyable. Only shooting 50 yards tomorrow. Then 100 yards the next Saturday, then 200 yards the Saturday after that.

So happy I don't have to do that any more.

Tomorrow is supposed to be 97 with a feels like of 110! Maybe I can just open up a window and stick my arm out. 🤔😕🤠

I might try to get services on YouTube when this is all over so there's video too instead of just audio. One of my sons called me this morning. He said he had a bolt stuck in his tire. “ The car spent the whole day at the shop and just before closing they called and said they couldn't repair it and didn't have a tire to replace it with - and it was too late to have one delivered from their warehouse.”
That sounds like a lousy tire shop. The scenario that you laid out would be something that commonly happens, and at the beginning of the day the shop should have been able to contact you with what they have to offer.
I would definitely say something to the manager/ owner.
Good on you for buying tires for your son, like Ron I have been there, done that, glad I don’t now.
I had a Michelin on my rig the other day that blew out the sidewalk, the tire wasn’t very old.

Hot yesterday, hotter today, high 90s. Humidity around 11 per cent.
I have a new strategy. Being an irrigation superintendent, I spend much time standing in water. No more rubber boots. Instead, I am wearing fabric high top snake boots which can handle being soaked with water. So, they get nice and soaked and I slop around with feet by evaporation. That helps a lot.

I just tried to find a youtube video for someone with the intent of a picture being worth a thousand words, and literally, a minute of audio could explain it all. Instead, there are knuckleheads that make 10+ minute videos sitting around in their underwear (not really, but you get the picture) seeking to draw some sort of following. I refused to watch it...I got about 5 seconds in and realized that I could never get that time back, and I would come away a little dumber. He has 3/4 of a million hits though, so if they allow monetization on tobacco products, he is making money.

Been a rough couple of weeks..."baby" is loosing her eye sight and her back legs don't want to support her...vet is out of town on a family emergency...we'll wait til he is back and have him come over and do the deed...got her grave already dug, next to her brothers and sister. Gonna be a couple months of crying in this household...she is the love and joy of our lives.

His hind end quit working right and he too is on that downward spiral. I fear it wont be long before we have to say goodbye.

Thanks, Oldcajun and Terry, she has been a real joy....never barks unless it is for a steak, which is what she is getting tonight. Sits in a chair in her carrier when we are in a restaurant...waiter always admires how quiet she is...a real lady. Got her registered as a service dog...she keeps me from killing damn fools when we are out. Couldn't stand the thought of not being with her and my wife.

That sucks, Walt.
Sorry to hear about that. There comes a time where it is more humane to let them drift off to sleepy town permanently, it sure beats seeing them in agony.

Absolutely, Charlie...we held on to the last boy a little too long, and we could see he was in pain...took him to his Dr. and let him cross over the Rainbow Bridge to join his brother and sister. Got to always consider their needs and not ours. He was a champ and was loved as much as this sweet "baby" of ours.

Well hell, plugged a hole in my son's tire yesterday. This morning I was on the way to the gun range and I got a low air pressure alarm on my truck. It showed front right tire at 25#. Turned around, headed back home. Filled tire with air and saw there was a screw stuck in it. Went shooting, then came home, pulled the screw out and plugged it. Going on a trip tomorrow in the wife's car. Decided to ut the plugging kit in her car, just in case!

I know how that is.
When my old Hound, "Fred", was near the end he had gone blind for a couple of years. Did not slow him down on bit. He got to the point he could not rise to pee. He would bark, I would lift him to his feet and place an absorbent pad under him so he could pee. Then he would lay down again on his bed. Finally, he passed in his sleep. I do not mind hand nursing my old doggies one bit. It is sad duty but, that is what I am her for.

We had all LEDs at the old house. It seems like I've replaced 2 dozen bulbs in the new house and I haven't made a dent.

I got to shoot my new 45 today. About 9:30 am I shot at the front loader bucket. 8+1 rounds from a Wilson mag with no problems, except that they didn't penetrate the 3/8 steel bucket. But they did dent it a little. The 9mm didn't even leave a mark. I need to load some FMJ 450 Bushmaster.

Just 50 yards. SightMark reticle sight on them both. Got them both "sighted in" good enough to hit what I'm aiming at - suspended bowling pins and 4x4 blocks, paper targets, and a 10" steel plate. One guy fired a 300 Magnum at his steel plate (~3/4" thick). It cut a fairly clean hole right through it!!!!!
