We're enjoying the latest season of Fargo, and it appeals to my sense of humor. It's very character driven, and boy are there some characters here. I'm also liking the new version of the Weakest Link. Jane Lynch is perfect.

Last night I watched the first three episodes of A FRENCH VILLAGE, a French series, in French and mercifully not dubbed, but with good subtitles. It is about a French village (duh!) occupied by the Germans in WW2. In Russia when the Germans took over a village (especially in Belorussia) they simply killed every living thing and moved on. France was somewhat different: they occupied and stayed. The series, quite a long one from the looks of the index, explores all the complexities of that occupation. So far I’m liking it. (We’ll have to see how it goes, so far 9/10.)

Just watched the 1st episode of a new TV series called "Big Sky". The storyline started looking familiar. I looked the series up on the internet and, sure enough, one of the executive producers is C. J. Box. Think I've read about everything he's written. Love the Joe Picket series.
Big Sky seems to be based on his book "The Highway".

Excellent acteurs, scripting, production values. So glad it is a LONG series.

Finished a rewatch of one of my favorite series, The Wire.
Started tucking into 'The Great British Baking Show' on Netflix. It's surprisingly entertaining.

Finished season 2 of Virgin River, on Netflix, it really was turned on for wife, then I got interested, kinda soapy, but well done , beautiful scenery, rveru once in a while I have to bow to the wife’s interests, not that she asks or demands, just common courtesy.

I think it's great to enjoy a series with the wife. It's one more thing to have in common. I've watched thru Downton Abbey more than once with my wife, and before you poo-poo it...it's high quality, very well done. And with that little response...look at me...I'm a "full member" at mile marker 500.
