I believe he designed it. You could be right. I just assumed it was the Colt 1911 made under license in Mexico.

Low and behold, the Mexican Obregon uses a rotating barrel locking system designed by Señor Obregon. Only superficially after the Browning design.

My main concern with a daily carry gun is reliability... That being said, the priority for me is... Ease of carry and reliability... To that end I primarily carry the following.... My Daily. My other daily carry... My sometimes daily carry..

The CW9 is an excellent choice. I also tote one. When my Colt’s Dragoon is in the shop.

Eeek! 9mm ammo is up to $1/round here...
... IF you're lucky enough to find it.

Still cheaper than 38 and 357. IF you can find it. ammoseek can find some FMJ 38s from manufacturers you've never heard of starting around a dollar and going up to five dollars. A round.
Yes, I'll take five rounds of 9mm, three rounds of 38, and er, just the one 357 please.

Just cleaned off my bench today. Ready to start loading 9mm tomorrow. As of Monday I will have fired 500 rounds in pistol league. Need to replenish my supply.

Shocked at these handgun ammo prices!!
Checking inventory, I have about 55 rounds of .38 Special, 500+ rounds of .44 Magnum, 50 rounds of .44 Russian, 50 or so rounds of .38 S&W 158 grain lead. Miscellaneous .45 Colt. .45 ACP, and 9mm.
That ought to handle the first wave of swarming liberals or fascists. Not sure which are coming my way. The next wave will be met with swords and knives.

Eeek! 9mm ammo is up to $1/round here... ... IF you're lucky enough to find it. Yipes! I have $1500.00 worth of 9mm then! Still a chump amount of what I should have on hand of that caliber. My 6 magazines for the Hellcat came from Midway USA this week, the wife was asking where the heck her P238 mags are... must order.

Those prices are for the cheapest ball ammo, or remanufactured, or some weird 65gr frangible plastic eco-friendly type crap. ammoseek found NO ONE with defensive 9mm in stock in the first hundred hits.
I read one of the major manufacturer's representative (like Federal or Winchester or someone) say their backlog was one year, ie they won't be caught up with their current orders for a year.

If you shoot at something hit it, if you miss try again, if you take a third shot you are wasting ammo. Words from my father who fought in three real wars and he meant what he said.

The prices are horrendous. 5.56 are just as bad here. A friend called and said he found 7.62 x 39 rounds for 8.99 a box. I told him that was great, but he wouldn't sell me his other SKS. at least he was smart and picked up his limit and had his boys go back and pick up their limit as well (5 boxes per day).
Maybe it's time to start reloading...
I picked up a Canik 9mm Friday. It fit what I was looking for. They also have a 1911 in a box, under the counter, with my name on it 😁.

I stock up on ammo whenever I have a little money and I happen to be in the store. I keep finding ammo. I found about 6 assorted boxes in the storeroom. I don't know how many rounds I have, but it weighs around 200 pounds all together.

I hope so, people love their vices, and most of us here have more tobacco than we know what to do with. Maybe I'll finally get that goat I always wanted!

A wise man once told me when my budget was more limited:
“ Instead of saving up to buy a thousand rounds at rock bottom prices, pick up a box every payday, and you will end up with plenty of ammo”.
That has served me well.
I found that if you are searching for ammo at a Walmart store, park near the oil change and when you walk into the main store look for the fishing poles above the shelves, that puts you where you need to be.
And, strike up a friendly conversation with the sporting goods associate, ask him how his day is going, and before you leave ask him if he knows of any scheduled ammunition deliveries.
At least around here, they typically know... especially the guy that works the day shift.
Nammo Talley here in Mesa has all of their machines running 24/7, and they supply projectiles to many of the household names from the boutique ammo companies to the giants. With all of the gun sales in the last decade or so, the demand far outstrips the supply, and it isn’t cheap to expand the facility. I used to pick up 40k pounds regularly when I went there. It doesn’t take many pallets to get to that point!

I guess I’m lucky. Out in the bunk house I have two Dillons, a Rockchucker, and a CH Magnum. Plus the makin’s. Haven’t bought factory in many years.

It doesn’t take many pallets to get to that point! The problem is finding any for sale. Gun and sports stores do not have any ammo in Taos. Big R had some in Alamosa but the case is kept locked and no one can find anyone who knows where the key is. There is no store more fouled up than Big R Farm and ranch Supply. I do not go to enough other places to find ammo. I imagine there are remote stores in small towns which might still have inventory?

Found another box of 50 .44 magnum FMJ flat nose in my Landcruiser tool box.
Maybe I can cut the copper off the flatpoint and score the sides to it can expand? Never tried that.

Found another box of 50 .44 magnum FMJ flat nose in my Landcruiser tool box. Maybe I can cut the copper off the flatpoint and score the sides to it can expand? Never tried that. If asked. I’d say “Don’t.” You’d wind up with bullets of widely varying weights and lousy flight characteristics. Another consideration, while I am unaware of any court case that was decided on the basis of the use of handloaded ammunition used in a self-defense shooting, there would be glee on the prosecutor’s face if someone took factory ammo and “modified” it to make it more deadly. Just my 2¢...
