Poor old gal ... sounds like it's about time to send her on. You're a good man, Charlie Brown. Never! My old dogs mostly die with me in attendance. That is unless they are in severe pain. I had to put one down who had been mauled by something large.

Jack had a spell of that recently and he came out of it fine, or so I hope. Dogs that have the bad habit of drinking out of a toilet are susceptible. Keeping lids DOWN with fresh water nearby can help prevent those episodes.

Needs to spend more time outside, LOL!

Once they have constant pain or can't stand and walk on their own it's time to make that hard call. She's got a great home and Papa!

It’s our ultimate responsibility. The job we’d rather shirk but never can.

After having a Mastiff/Great Dane mix, having a dog that size getting sick at the bowels, bladder, or stomach turns the house into a cesspool, love my dogs but that is a nightmare.
Super dogs are cool when all is good with them, sick not so much. Like having a horse in the house.

He would be standing in the living room, awaiting his breakfast. Not once did he poop in the house.

Was he also back later for a naked lunch? Should have been. He was a wonderful pal. Lost him in 2005 when I was stuck in California. He foundered and died. Tragic loss. I learned never to leave my animals in the care of others for long.

That sucks, John!
My dad was in the army mule pack at FtCarson, His respect for them was pretty high, he had a lot of great stories about how stubborn they could be, but with the right handler, they were putty in the hands, and very dependable.

Though it doesn't bother me when a longhorn steer acts like a dog. But they have a big problem getting through the door 🤔

I'm pretty sure the pup is allergic to mosquito bites. The hair around her butt thinned out and now its going up her back. This happened with another Pit I had that couldnt eat beef, so im positive its an allergic reaction. Ive changed her food a few times just to see if that helped. That wasnt it. Now when she gets bit you can see the raised spot on her skin, I don't really know how to explain it.
Does anyone know any simple solutions to keep them off of her on our walks? Google turns up tons of results and I'd rather not put her through the misery of trial and error. Does anyone have a tried and true remedy?
Last year the skeeters weren't this bad this early, so there wasn't a reaction. And in May we moved to the desert where they weren't really a problem.
And yes, she's on heartworm meds.

Cleaning up poop and urine is one of the joys of having pups...we put down vinyl through out the home...carpet was a no-no. Love the dogs more than love carpet.
