I couldn't find an extant thread on our Best Friends so I thought I'd try to start one. If I missed one I apologize and the mods can delete this one and I join the other. I've had a lot of trouble adding pics to posts, but MAY have discovered how to do it. I'm attaching a pic (hopefully!) of my boy Jack at one year. He's a German Shorthaired Pointer, sometimes called a Deutcher Kurzhaar, but more usually just GSP. He's ten now but still sharp as a tack. We are both working at training a new family member, Eli, who turned five months just yesterday.
I'm hoping others will post about their furry buddies.

Beautiful dog. I had a Weimaraner many years ago and I loved him. I understand that they have similar temperaments. At my age though I think I would find him a little rambunctious. 😉🤠🐕🦺

Ha! If you look up "rambunctious" in the ol' Webster's you will find Eli's picture right next to the definition!

"Yes, you! And what is that in your mouth? Spit it out!" (It was just a chunk of tasty weed.)

Not only is it a PITA to post the pic's but, if you are on a protected server such as at work, you can't see them either. The only way is to hop back and forth between mobile / desktop modes on your phone or to type your own code and I've given up on that. It's one of the main reasons this site lacks more visual content which is a shame.

The "other" forum had made it much easier to post pictures, but the people on this forum are so much better that I can deal with it. I have a bunch of pictures to post when I get my computer up and running.

My dog Buddy is an Astromut, he’s just back from a mission.

Astronut indeed! That’s cute picture. “Houston, we have a problem!”
I’m a mod on another forum and it annoys me a little when a newbie makes critical remarks about the forum. My reaction, maybe unreasonable, is often “you don’t like it here go somewhere else.” But I do have to say that I find the pic-posting here to be... well, inconvenient at best, and maybe even “clunky” at worst. But all forums are different, as someone has already said, and nobody forces us to be here.

Wife and I have been blessed with 5 sweet doggies in the past 20 years...the first was Cassie, a beautiful tricolor female chihuahua who was the boss...needing a companion for her, as we both worked, we got a rescue male chihuahua we named Pepe (hence my on line name pepesdad1). We were then gifted a rescue from a dumpster, poor lil feller had several badly mended broken bones and was close to hairless when we got him...we named him Pierre as he had an overbite from loss of teeth and looked like he was all nose. Pierre was a lover, as you can imagine finally having a pack that he could belong to. Pierre loved his family and passed on, after Cassie and Pepe's death, from grief. We were miserable having had to bury our "babies" and so we got another rescue from the shelter, a beautiful white female chihuahua (MissElli) who had epilepsy. She was perfect in that she never barked and enjoyed our 24 hour attention...she traveled with us to Texas and Ky. and sadly after 3 wonderful years with us, she lost the use of her rear legs and went blind all within 2 months and so we were again childless. So we went to the shelter and got a small 5# Yorkie that was 12 years old and...no one seemingly wanted an older dog. Her name is Lexxi and she is our "baby" now. We are old and so is she. Below are pictures of our "children" and where they are now resting in their truly forever home. Cassie Pepe Pierre MissElli Permanent resting Place for the "babies". MissElli has joined this small graveyard and not in this picture. Newest "baby" Lexxi We were blessed with these wonderful creatures and all of them made our lives absolutely wonderful.

What a beautiful ‘memorial garden’ you have. They bless us with their love and companionship, don’t they? Whatever good we do for them they deserve every bit of it. Thanks for posting about your babies!

Our Jack Russel terrier named Susie. She passed a couple years ago at the age of 16. You can see her muzzle getting whiter as she ages - just like me.

Orley, your Idgee looks much like our sweet MissElli...all dogs are wonderful people, we don't try to train ours we just let them be their natural loving selves. You will never find such unconditional love from humans...they were God's gift to us to take care of...you want to find God, just look in the eyes of a dog.

Wonder what he is thinking....yes, I believe they are smart enough to think in some manner...certainly better than most humans.

This picture of our guys is a couple of years old, but they pretty much look the same. They are mutts, mother a Schnauzer/Poodle mix, dad a Yorkie. They are brothers from consecutive litters, the huskier, Deacon is the older, Parson, 7months younger. Both are six years now and we've had them since they were pups. Good dogs with different personalities but great together.

I've had dogs most of my life. Nowadays I get my puppy fix by visiting the office, where Vinnie and Jager make sure that I remember where their treat container is.

Hell, ya they think...baby outwits me every time and gets whatever she wants with just a tiny whine and those eyes that say..."you know you are gonna give me what I want, so whataya waiting for".
