Thinking of getting a new pipe lighter. Thought I'd turn to the patch for some suggestions. I've never been one to pay much mind to lighters, but as I'm getting more mature, pipe smoking is becoming more and more of a hobby and ritualistic. Wondering if there's any features or brands and so forth I may want to look for. Thank you in advance.
I get free bic lighters and free cans of butane to fill my fancier lighters.
I use bic mostly, but you cannot beat a zippo if there is any wind.

Zippo w/pipe insert, especially for windy days. For calmer smokes I use a IM Corona Old Boy knock off from Aliexpress. Less than $20 delivered. While it is certainly not IM Corona quality, it works quite well. I’ve been using mine for a year and a half with no issues. I use the IM Corona flints and Xikar Purofine Butane. Search for Pipe lighter 2017 on Aliexpress.com
May we live, not by our fears but by our hopes; not by our words but by our deeds; not by our disappointments but by our dreams.
I am assuming you have already been using bic lighters. So I would suggest Im corona, zippo or colibri never had an issue with one myself. Just make sure its a soft flame for your pipe and that it is filled with quality butane (multiple times refined). Good luck.

I don't care for the odor of the Zippo fuel, but you can't beat it in a windy place. Otherwise I have both Dunhill's and Kiribi. My Dunhill's are my favorite. Very pricey new, but you can always get a good deal on an estate. Alway work well. Kiribi's are hit and miss. Never heard a bad word about Old Boys. Don't use Bics as they usually burn my fingertips and get hot. But for flying on an airplane (which I don't do anymore) they are the only thing that gets through security. And there is always matches. I use those a lot as well.
