Almost picked up up today. Decided to go with Jefferson's Chef's Collaboration instead. Never had this one. Might try some tonight.

Back around 69 I inventoried a liquor store that the multi-millionaire owner was getting rid of. They held out a bottle of French wine from 1874, the most expensive bottle in the store. We sat around and the manager/sommelier and he served us all a bit. It was corked. Yes, old vintages must be re-corked. Hard to age something that old. I had a Jeroboam of "Cigare Volante" almost 18 years old and was devastated to discover it had turned. The cork failed to seal. A major disappointment!

Now enjoying a ten year old Port made by the Quevedo Family in the Douro Valley region of northern Portugal. It is a Tawny Port. Could use more aging but enjoyable now.

Having some now. It's a blend of bourbon and rye. An actual collaboration between the blend and a chef. It's rye-forward. Pretty tasty, so far.

Chef's name is Edward Lee. Gotta look him up. I don't know what he does, or where he's from.

What makes a mix of bourbon and rye better than a straight bourbon with a hundred years of experience and a high rye mash bill? I'll take Old Granddad for $1000.

Last of the Angel's Envy. In the dark. Probably the best way to focus on it. You should probably buy another bottle, since you can.

Apologies if it was here.)

Quevedo Family Tawny Port following their Xisto Red Blend at dinner. Much of the same grape- Touriga Nacional. The Xisto blend has some other varietals. Not sure which, perhaps Tempranillo?
