just finished cooking up a pot of chili, now to let it simmer for a couple hours. Undecided on if I'll make cornbread... While I love GRITS or polenta, cornbread rarely floats my boat. Not even corn muffins. Never see Hushpuppies or Dodgers here. I used to put the chili-i-i-i-i-i into individual bowls, topped with a layer of grits. Then into the oven for a bit. My old mother called it "Tamale Pie"

My old mother called it "Tamale Pie" that sounds good. I ladle my chili over a piece of cornbread so it will soak of the juice...

My old mother called it "Tamale Pie" I do variations of the “tamale pie”, the favorite of the family is one with corn chips, browned ground beef with onions, garlic, salt, grated potatoes, hatch chiles, tomatoes and water, 1/2 pound of Longhorn chees and bake. Nothing to do with tamales, but that is the name they gave it.

Went to a Thai restaurant for dinner. I had Basil Duck. It was absolutely amazing! But they didn't have Gewurztraminer! So I had a Riesling with it instead.

Nice meaty tomato sauce, home made, with whole wheat spaghetti. Tomatoes, tomato paste, bell pepper, onion, garlic, red wine, beef gravy with mushrooms (home made yesterday), diced beef roast. Lots of shredded cheese: asiago, provolone, parmesan.

when da Mrs makes her "grand" appearance, probably near brunch time, the usual Sunday fixings on griddle part of GeoForeman grill. I've mentioned details many times; if curious, PM fine. Sure you all with eat "well". One tiny bite of near everything mentioned above & before, me & the Rolaids will be instant friends even if I dared.

"Against the Grain" brand Pesto pizza with extra mozzarella, green olives, red bell peppers and a little sausage. This is a Vermont made frozen pizza and it is about the best I have eaten in that category.

Had some smoked salmon on a bagel with cream cheese and capers. Yum! Best salmon I ever had was from a co-worker who went home to Michigan to use his families smoke house and bought me some back. Second best was in Dublin Ireland.

After morning irrigation rounds and being H-U-N-G-R-Y, breakfast was a bockwurst from Boar's Head, one fried egg, beans in tomato sauce and chips. It was good, too!

nappie next, then Zweigle's white dawg skin-on, 12mins @300f on GeoForeman grill. Side, one cup Musselman's smooth applesauce, to 6pm CBS local/national news feed. Later with Jeopardy for company, ice cream on a stick
