Just ate a Patriot Burger and fries from a new place. 3/5. What is a Patriot Burger? Served with Freedom Fries? Exactly. It's a new food truck establishment that just opened up in town. It's the 4th best hamburger in town so I don't expect them to make it unless they improve. Meat patty like a quarter pounder and they put KETCHUP on the burgers, which just isn't done in Texas.

Don't send them to New Mexico until they learn more.

Don't get me started on the the greatness of "In-N-Out". When driving back to LosAngeles from NM, crossing the burning sands and melting blacktop of the Mohave Desert all the way to Barstow, what kept me going was what waited for me at the end of my ride..... In-N-Out Burger, Barstow. While the Burgers are quite good and simple, it is the infectious youth who work there. I do not mean they are infected with anything other than good cheer and enthusiasm. It gets to me every time. I hope that does not change. You know, the company is family owned and all of their stores belong to them. NO franchise operators. Quality control and employment policies are kept at high standards. At least that is the way it was.....

That is still the way the culture is there, the starting pay is close to $17.00 an hour, and if a kid works his way to running a store he is in the chips. An interesting story on how the heiress kept a bonehead from ruining the chain. You will have to disable the ad blocker if you have one.

There is a Steak and Shake in Texarkana that closed at the beginning of the pandemic and hasn't reopened. Never had a meal there or from In and Out. 5 guys Burgers all seem to be manned by rude idiots and Smash burgers don't seem to be anything special. The best burger I've ever had was at Hippo Burger in Humble with their 2 restaurants. Someburger in the Houston Heights was the first and they were very good. Long gone now. Chuckwagon burgers were also great and history. Whataburger is just a fast food burger. I had high hopes for the food truck, but alas..

Much farther.
