I'll set up a briar patch face to face in Ireland. Would be great... Except there's no smoking indoors and getting decent weather is a Gamble. What is a “face to face”?

The Irish in the New World were unable to get the cuts of meat they were used to (when they could even get meat in the Ould Sod!). They wanted bagún but had to settle for corned beef. It’s not an Irish thing. Nothing quite like a plate of bagún agus cabaiste with chips!

Got all the chores done, the sun came out but things didn’t really warm up. Got another training video shot and posted on YT, now I’m in the smoking shed with a good fire and a Partagas Black trying to warm back up

More wind. It made 50° but the wind made it feel much colder. The dogs got their run today anyway. Running before the wind in the Rhino it was OK, but turning into the wind was a pure misery. For the first time Jack wanted to ride in the Rhino from the get-go. Seemed very happy throughout the ride watching the kid (now 55 pounds) tear around like a dervish.
Y’day I couldn’t stand it any longer and despite a WC of 0° I managed to put a few hardballs through the new Sig. It ate them and spit the empties out with no balks or problems, which I didn’t expect anyway. Nothing formal but a decent group for a rushed “test.” Nice trigger on the gun and one I will no doubt come to love. Not 200 rounds yet of course but it is already at the top of my EDC roster. First thing I’ll do to it is polish the feed ramp, a must on all my autoloaders. I need some warm weather to wring this thing out. Patience!

I don't keep round counts, but I've had no problems with it.

The bagún in bagún agus cabaiste (cabbage) is unrelated to American bacon. Somewhat like Canadian bacon, but not quite that either.

I got a shingles vaccination yesterday and my arm was sore today. Still, I raked a few bushels of leaves and I picked up a bunch of limbs and burned them. Then I got tired and took a nap. Woke up with a 102 degree feve. FFeeling aa little better now. I hope it helps me avoid the shingles in the future.

Woke up with a 102 degree feve. FFeeling aa little better now. I hope it helps me avoid the shingles in the future. Initially when asked by my doctor about the shingles vaccine, I declined. Then she educated me that if you had chicken pox as a kid, as you grow older the antibodies decrease, and once you get to Medicare age the injection is not covered. Having seen people that have been infected with shingles was enough to make me see the light and I got it done. Shingles is not a joke, it can cause blindness if your eyes get infected.

I have had mild cases of shingles. I have a friend who is mostly blind and has lost her senses of taste and smell from it. Another friend from elementary school has been suffering for months with one attack after another. I got the vaccine because I was scared.

Fear is an instinct that is providentially instilled in humans for good reason. Some fears are irrational to the uninformed, to the informed, it is wise to follow instincts.

I really hope you're wrong. Maybe, since Northern Ireland is no longer in the EU and there's no hard boarder, there might be a silver lining to at least visit Ireland. But why would they even do that?

I might have missed it but I don’t see a 2021 movie thread. Anyway...
Last night I watched THE PRINCESS BRIDE for the first time. (It was in the $3.74 bin at Walmart.) I know I am way behind the curve and that it is a “cult film” of sorts. So I was looking for an evening of, maybe, laughter and catching-up. No such luck. It was a hot mess of bad acting, with-it borscht-belt snidery, along with indications that the director— if it even had one— had slept through most of the filming. It was painful to watch Chris Sarandon and Andre the Giant plod through their lines, and the Billy Christal and Wallace Shawn schticks were agonizing. So much for catching-up. But it was only $3.74, although that is a little much to pay for a cold-drink coaster.

I saw Mandy Patinkin being interviewed because Ted Cruz had quoted his line from princess bride during a campaign. The guy came unhinged stating that it was unconscionable that anyone culturally appropriate such a noble character, and that character deserved better. The guy came across as a nutcase.

I didn't mention him because I don't like to give crazy people any screen-time. "Still a meathead after all these years!"
