Hello everyone! Was away on a two week golf holiday with the boys and currently suffering from jet lag and time zone change. My buddy found a wonderful cottage along a lake with no wifi coverage. Have to admit, it was great being completely off the grid for a short time. It's good to get that oasis from the busyness of internet. Seems like you had a great time.

60 and soggy in the Great Lakes state. Started raining last night at 7:30, or so. With the exception of a couple lulls, it been continuous. Rain all day today, into tomorrow morning. Won't need to water the garden for a while.

Back onto the subject of country roads, here is "Old State Road 3". My road. Used to be the main road linking the Town of Toad with the villages to the north and then onto Colorado. Meandered all over the landscape. Partly paved and mostly not. This is one of the reasons I relocated here.

What a week. Yesterday I tried to open the door to my shop and the key wouldn't work for some reason. I spent a couple of hours drilling out the lock just to get to my tools. Moved the remaining junk from the carport that's going away. This morning I was supposed to be in Longview to get a deer catcher and a new bumper on the truck. Truck had a flat in the driveway. Finally got here and they're working on it.

Never easy of a full size pick up truck.

Never easy of a full size pick up truck. Thanks. The lock on the shop door was actually inside of the barn. I have no idea how or why it decided to quit working. It's less than a year old and protected. I even sprayed Kroil in it. it's like I had the wrong key but I didn't. I'm only a block from the tire shop so little air got me there, bbutI had somewhere elses to be. It was a big flat head screw that takes like a 35 star bit, like would hold a door panel on. It was worn to a point.

A good day. Cool in the morning. so I went into town, got some cash at the bank (I seldom have much cash on me since plastic is the way to go), got a haircut, had lunch at the Mex place, and did a quickie supply top-up at Wallymarto. Then I came home and went out of control with my torch lighter on a cheapie MM.

A busy day clearing out a shed and finding needed stuff I have not seen in years plus a lot of junk.
My knee is screaming and I am well into the Gin with Cannabis tincture. Both knee and Tibia very angry at me.

Having travelled extensively in New Mexico, it is indeed “The land of Enchantment”…truly some beautiful country there.

Looks like fall finally showed up in Illinois. It's been in the 90's like most of the summer - then yesterday and today, 50's at night 70's during the day. Nice.
Went for a 12 mile bike ride this morning. Good weather for it.
My Fall Pistol League was cancelled. Too much COVID and not enough ammo. So not enough people participating. Maybe things will be better for Winter League in January.

Still a go, as far as I know, but clubhouse is closed.

Happy TGIF to those affected. In early from full power walks, no-band 5x5 for company. (PCP doc checkup late morning). After the Ed is fed, Abingdon in pointy bottom cob & continue with the papers. Otherwise, quiet day till late afternoon usuals.

56 degs in Cajun land, today I’ll take my lawn sweeper and get Mis Billie her pine straw, with strong North winds the pine straw is thick. Wife likes it on her plants during winter, good insulator. While doing this I’ll be smoking a San Latano The Bull.
