I'm told that...Some folks waited in line for 7 hours here..None of the pharmacies here have them yet.

Relatively busy day. Nice weather for January. Ran some errands. Got the puppy's face trimmed - to remove the tear stains. Picked up 100 rounds of 40cal ammo at the gun range. Only $17 a box. Ate lunch at a nearby bar/restaurant where I usually have a drink after shooting. First time I've been there for 9 months. They've remodeled a bit. Drove to another nearby town to another gun shop. Picked up 2 boxes of 28 gauge. They were pretty picked over. On Monday they had 2 or 3 hundred thousand rounds of ammo for sale - and during the day another 100 thousand 223 were delivered. It was a 2 hour wait just to get in the door. Police had to direct traffic. Some people drove 3 hours to get there. I didn't know anything about it until the next day - but I wouldn't have waited that long in line anyway. I'm not that hard up for ammo. They're supposed to get another smaller delivery next week. If I can buy on line, I might try that. Most of the ammo I have I bought online, but that was "before". I haven't checked out a local gunstore except when I picked up my 22 rifle. They had about 10 boxes of 5.56 and some oddball stuff that nobody wants. But that was a tiny store inside an O'Reilly's. The big gunstore is in Marshall and I haven't had a chance to check it out. Academy is the place I've bought most of my ammo for the last 30 years and we don't have one around here. The last one I was in had a lot of empty shelves. I remember the last shortage (2016?) when they only had 2 boxes of 4.6x30. They were no guns for sale in the US that shot that cartridge.

Cleaned out a corner of my office and put my newly built spin bike there so I can hopefully accomplish my goal of losing 25 pounds by the end of May (my 45th birthday)

I was amazed on a recent trip to a Cabela's to see the gun shelves empty and ammo non-existent. I am glad that I bought ammo incrementally for the most part over the last several years, I am good for quite some time, but in the current situation until I can reliably get components to reload, I wont be in any shooting matches for awhile. I have stockpiles of food, water, tobacco, and alcohol. I am not a prepper mind you, but a realist on what may transpire in the future, things will get worse before they get better.

Been saying it for 15 years, and I've been right for 15 years, and I'm going to continue being right until I'm dead and gone. If we're lucky. And that's probably about as much as I ought to be saying on the subject.

An observation, rant and rave. After being on the patch for a while. I have noticed some are more outgoing, friendly, reserved and even people who act school boy bitches. Unfortunate in some cases that adults can't act like adults (pathetic really). But it makes me happy to have made so many friends here that the friends outweigh the loosers. As has already been said, unfortunately, where there are people you're going to get a variety of personalities etc. I'm glad the friends have outweighed the losers. I hope you haven't had any (or many) run-ins with peopel. If you ever have an issue, please do bring it to my attention. For a shrunken-headed dog-person. *SIGH* Nobody got the joke. I got it in the end, but I admit it took a while. I'm not the sharpest tool in the box. Cleaned out a corner of my office and put my newly built spin bike there so I can hopefully accomplish my goal of losing 25 pounds by the end of May (my 45th birthday) That's what I need to do! But I HATE exercise. I prefer to surf of something like that to get fit rather than exercise. Going to the gym sapped the life out of me. That said, I'll be rooting for you.

The only time Iโve bought any quantity of factory ammo was when I shot on a sponsored team and the sponsor let us buy 38 target ammo for $5 a box. Many of my 38 cases come from that time. Yes, fittingly in the Chinese sense we do and will live in โinteresting times.โ

Years ago, I collected that oddball ammo when in independent gun stores. I would pick up boxes of .38-40 no one shot anymore, .25-35 which I really admired and longed to own in a Winchester. .300 Savage, .300 H&H. Little realizing I would sell it all at a profit years later. How weird was your store's syff?

Well I guess I didn't actually know what it meant either. I knew being a "Left-Footer" meant you were Catholic... but I guess "digging with your left foot" must mean something even more dastardly! lol

Wrong. But thanks for playng. Not wrong! ๐๐น Let me explain ... The sleรกn (SLAWN) is a special shovel used to dig peat. Sleรกns in the south are built so as to be used with the right foot. In the north they are used with the left foot. Thus, in the south (the present Republic) a northerner, a Protestant, would be said to dig with the left foot. Catholics might say the โwrong foot.โ But they meant of course the left.
