Cold, clear and sunny right now. Temperature sitting at 32F (or 0C) for our metric friends. Suiting up, my pipe is loaded for a round of golf in about an hour. Can’t this of a better way to spend the day.

50 and cloudy today in NE Texas. Kinda yuck with all the mud. Contractor said he can't fix the driveway until the dry season. May at the earliest. 😕

Sloppy as hell here, 63, overcast, SE wind bringing a gumbo of rain showers, Buddy whineing to go out, then coming in after 5 minutes. Installed s Newer ring doorbell yesterday, love that thing, can watch cats and Buddy from my chair.

Cold and sunny, with a slight breeze. Had to do a bunch of running that I did not want to do in Spokane. I hate Spokane. I’m back home now, waiting for my blood pressure to go back down a tick. May go split a little bit of wood here shortly, just to work off some stress. I need to just stay out in the hills.

Since I got it, the maul has not been touched. I still use wedge and hammers on knots.

I'm not sure why. Setting the wedge slows things down. For some reason it just felt more natural to me than a maul.

Ha-ha! A good one. My reference is one that only an Irishman is likely to get. It just means he's catholic. He isn't. Actually, I've never heard to dig with the left foot, but there's a saying up here, 'kick with the left foot', and if someone kicks with their left foot, it means they're a Roman Catholic. So Ronv69 nailed that one, but Plainsman educated me.

I love it up in the sticks around the North Coast.

Kinda sums up every town between El Paso and San Diego that I stayed in over the last year.
It is nice to have a 6AM to 2PM job, and I stay in Arizona.

Can’t this of a better way to spend the day. Famous last words above “ Can’t think of a better way to spend the day.” Well it wasn’t rosey or peachy out there today. In fact the course conditions was absolute crap due to frost and cold weather. It’s been a while since I’ve hit my 9 iron 200 yards because the ball kept on bouncing and bouncing down the fairway. I know... First World Problem but it doesn’t mean I can’t bi£<[ about it. Grrrr......

It was a joy to show off and send the splinters flying. Now the only splinters would be my bones.

We are an armed nation. Unfortunately many of the newbs will shoot their eyes out. Yes, but I welcome them to the fold just the same. Too bad their parents/grandparents didn't see fit to pass down the tradition to them. I have a standing offer to help train/mentor any new gun owners in my area.

Do you get up to Flagstaff, or do you stay in the south? Yeah we handle Northern AZ, and to the south sometimes to Douglas, north to Flag, east to the NM border.

Cleaned out a corner of my office and put my newly built spin bike there so I can hopefully accomplish my goal of losing 25 pounds by ton the locsl bike tril - like he was standing sill. He chased me down, when he was able to catch up with me just to ask how old I was. he end of May (my 45th birthday) I bought a Nautilus stationary bike last March. Used it for awhile, then let it slip. Real biking was/is my thing - but fate has screwed me a bit over the last few years. I started biking in 2017 and did 2200 miles. Lost 50 lbs! In 2018, I planned to do at least 3000 miles, but a slipped disc in my neck stopped me at 750 miles on Memorial Day. Lost the rest of the year. Had to have C6 and C7 vertebrae fused. In 2019, my mother took a turn for the worse health-wise. Only got in 350 miles. Had to move her into my home and care for her. She passed that August. Spent the rest of the year and much of 2020 maintaining/liquidating her property. Still not quite done with that. And of course, 2020 was shot to hell because of COVID. Started exercising again on the stationary bike a little in December, and again this week. Told the wife, nothing is going to stop me from biking this year. Unfortunately, I have to lose that 50 lbs all over again. Good luck with your spin bike. Keep at it. It's worth it. Maybe try biking on a bike trail if you don't already. It's great! You'll feel wonderful. I was 62 years old in 2017 when I first got started with "serious" biking. One day I passed a guy in his late 20's on a steep hill on the local bike trail - like he was standing still. He chased me down - when he was able to catch up - just to ask me how old I was. He was impressed, but I told him I had been riding all summer and that was the 106th time I had climbed that steep hill.

In my teens I thought nothing of an 80 mile day. Now at 70 I pass bicyclists on the hills all the time on my comfortable, 1800cc, 115hp Gold Wing. Y'all have fun!

We have a few million newbies who seem to understand, at some level anyway, the value of the 2A, I was a Pistol and Handgun Self Defense instructor with the NRA for over 30 years. It all started with an epidemic of rapes in my then-community. I taught women for free. I didn’t need the money and they needed the help. Most were great students.

As a kid my bike was my transportation. Ner really rode just to ride. As an adult my bike was unfortunately also a means of transportation, but that one, and the one after it, had no pedals, just foot pegs . While I dont mind the exercise bike to lose weight (wish I had one) I'm with Ron on this one.
