I reserve my jealousy for the Real Thing— New Mexico. Actually, though, the word ‘jealousy’ was invented as a way to describe how people feel about western Nebraska. :^) But forget about coming here— we’ve stopped giving out visitor visas. Try Texas. They’ll take ANYBODY! We send the misfits to the part of Texas that's now called Wyoming. Sorry. Beto will be turned back at the border.

Seriously, though— I really like Texas. Go to a shooting rendezvous there every spring. One of my favorite places...

I would probably love Wyoming if I ever did get there.

In a funk today. Between the political mess and today would have been my first son's 35th birthday, I'm just looking for distractions. Dizziness is pretty much gone now but I have an appointment with my regular doctor on Wednesday. I cleared the top of the hill by the pond today. That was good therapy but I'm just watching stupid fantasy crap right now. Tomorrow should be better I hope.

I would probably love Wyoming if I ever did get there. Wyoming grows on you. I love it. Have a place there I like to go as often as I can, for rejuvenation of the spirit.

I can generally find something on YouTube to keep my mind occupied if I don't have anything better to do. Some history documentaries or something. If nothing else, I'll rewatch the old BBC "Smiley's People" starring Alec Guinness. I never really get tired of that one. Better than "Tinker, Tailor" in my opinion. Well, the dizziness being gone is good news, at least.

So things are in a mess over here at the mo. Our hospitals are pretty much at capacity and there are a few of my congregation who have COVID. Most are ok, but some are being hit pretty bad. I'm so glad that I'm in the country and near the beach for walks etc.
Hope you're all well.

I will try to buy one from my Cell Phone Service provide, Choice Cellular. Navajo Owned. Navajo Proud. My tiny drop of business may help fill their reservoir. Is it true they give a basket of frybread for every phone they sell? Navajo Taco.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THAT, is mighty fine eating. If you are ever out this way, that is a must try.
I use a knife and fork to start with and then pick it up and fold.

Relit the wood stove. Tower heater going full in kitchen
Up at 0530. Now that my breakfast of failed German Baby and country ham is behind me, back to bed until the house warms up!

Sorry to hear about your son Ron. My condolences to you sir. When I need to occupy myself, I like to work with my hands. I will work on a model or cooking something that will take a day. I hope you find something to do. Heck even spending time on the patch may help. I'm rambling... Best of luck!

My Father, Welder, got him discharged from the Navy in WWII to work in New Mexico, never said what he did, Boat Skipper, Dragline operator and owner, Pool Hall and Taxi cab owner, Nightclub owner, Shrimper and Boat owner, finally guard at Belle Isle salt mine where 21 men perished including my Uncle. Rest In Peace.

Got up and most of the snow is gone. That's the way I like it. Still cold and cloudy today.

Good morning Patch friends and family. I'm finally up after spending the better part of the last two days in bed. Flu, I'm fairly sure. I didn't get my flu shot this year so it figures. I go for a covid test later today just to be safe. Sadly there's still too much crud in my lungs so I'm not risking a pipe this morning. Too bad cause I'm really in the mood for one!
Ahh well better safe than sorry right?

Ron ... sorry about the Funk but glad to hear the dizziness is better.
John ... Navajo Tacos are a real treat. We've got a family that sells the fry bread nearby and it's great.
Mike ... good luck with that tooth!
Today is the typical desert mountain start at 25F but on the way to 60F and sunny. Coffee is flowing and I'm picking a cigar out. Have a great day, all!

Started reloading 45cal today. Pistol League starts the 18th. Need 50 rounds a week for 12 weeks. A lot of people aren't going to be able to participate this time. They can't find enough ammo.

I wish you all the best! I don't shoot much anymore, but eventually I'll at least get back to my black powder guns.

Been snowing a good part of the day. The ground's too warm for any accumulation, but it's pretty when it's falling.

I am happy to say I have nothing to report. I love days when there is no “news.” The dogs had their run. A strange bright object appeared in the southern sky that turned out to be some kind of heater that made the day unusually pleasant. Other than that, nothing. Nada. Rien. O, happy day!

Went to the UPS store to pick up a package they declined to leave at my door for some reason. They don't move much faster than the P.O., in there.
But. In the box were 8 x 100g tins of Orlik Golden Sliced, and a tub of CH. Victory!
