Don’t tell me you’re having delivery issues again Urb! Partly understandable this time. We had this whole snow thing. That excuses UPS. USPS, however, routed my package coming from New England back to New England, once it got to Mississippi, and they did that before any snow fell. I'm tellin' ya, if you have a USPS package that passes through MS, just add an extra couple weeks. Somebody down there can't read a map.

Right? I'm fairly sure the cigars are at some driver's house. But who steals an anvil? I mean they are expensive, but it's a lot of work. They probably just rolled it in the ditch so they wouldn't have to deliver it. I have a Harbor Freight anvil and a piece of 5x5x10 steel block that handle all my bashing needs. Get it brother.

In keeping with my “do something nice for yourself on your birthday week, I’ve just placed another order and will let you know if this one gets “stuck” too. I’m hoping it’s just you brother!

I got an e-mail from RDpipes today...my new rhodesian is on it's way ...with any luck, I'll be huffing and puffing by Saturday. Carter Hall is my usual break in tobacco, but I'm out ...any thoughts on a replacement?

I don’t have anything coming in the mail, but I’m deriving great entertainment from sitting here and watching Will and Willie trudge out to the mailbox everyday through the snow, slush, cold, rain and wind looking anxiously for a controller they ordered for whatever game console it is they are playing on. 😁
Sometimes I love being old 😂😅

Still the same 2 packages: pipes from SP via UPS, and tobacco from 4noggins via USPS. Neither appears to have moved today.
Good luck, Ted!

Them braided flex stems are common on old pipes, usually on lap pipes. Quite often as they age, they develop leaks and the only option is to get a new one made. The only problem, is that I do not know of anyone that makes them.

The only problem, is that I do not know of anyone that makes them. Thanks for the info - I was clueless about this type of pipe. This one has several problems, so it will just be decorative: the tiny horn mouthpiece is very delicate and has small holes along the sides, at the base and under the bit. The flex stem is not too bad - I can repair that, but probably won't. The biggest issue is that the briar wall was too thin at the back of the soldier's neck, and apparently burned through and was repaired. I will probably sand the repairs smooth, strip the finish, re-stain, polish and be done with it...or do nothing.

You can always get a Churchwarden type stem made for it or just a regular length stem made, either if done properly will look good in my opinion.

Now I have incentive to do the bowl repair. By the way - love that new morta bulldog you're working on.

I just had a make sure he was still in business since I haven't bought any in years. I have about a thousand ready and waiting for me.

I used to buy bullets from Marshall, but he was a PITA to deal with.
