I'm pleased to say that I have almost nothing creeping through the USPS mail system at the moment. But I do have a beautiful pipe riding across the Atlantic in a German freighter, and can't wait to get a close-up look at it in a couple of months. The rustication WAS different from anything I'd seen before, but then I found another while waiting for this one. What makes it interesting (to me, anyway) is that, in addition to the meticulous and even rustication, is that when the rusticator was done, he then scratched up the high points, which are normally (with Peterson) just left smooth and glaring. He went to the same trouble with the rim, which he didn't on my other. I assume it's the same rusticator, as the pipes are both mid-late '80s.

Got my commissioned MRM cob today. It's gorgeous. Dress black, with a cyan juma band. It's my new Five Brothers pipe.

Glad to hear Kevin. A photo of your purchase would be appreciated please. Ok, here we go. Let's see if I can do this correctly. A good pair of choices.

8oz Yale Mixture 2oz Autumn Evening The AE sounds good, but I'm really hoping it isn't too sugary-sweet. I want something the princess will like the scent of, but nothing that's going to make me want to scrub out my mouth. AE is one of the few aromatics that I smoke occasionally. My wife calls it the "pancakes and syrup" tobacco. While there is some maple syrup sweetness it’s a pleasant sweet and not over the top. Excellent choice on the Yale Mixture. I rarely see anyone else smoke it. It’s a great under the radar smoke.

My next purchase will probably be some of the Scotty's University Professor...when it's back in stock

So, they’ll almost always have it in stock.

Haven’t tried the St. Bruno Flake before but I LOVE Erinmore and Grousemoor! Me too. Just never confuse the flake with the ready rubbed, two different animals. I love the flake.

Haven’t tried the St. Bruno Flake before but I LOVE Erinmore and Grousemoor! I'll tell you, I really really like St. Bruno... I ordered a tin back in December, and enjoyed it very much... the flakes were a bit dry and I suspected that the vac seal may have been compromised... fast forward to this latest tin... I was correct, this batch is nicely soft and moist... and dot damn delicious..
The thing with St. Bruno is that it's got a bit of Dark Fired Kentucky in there... makes for a nice strong flake... imagine kind of sort of Erinmore mixed with Old Dark Fired...
Highly recommended...

I've read that and stayed away... these flakes are so nice that I really like this style anyway... like with ODF I usually order the flakes even though the ready-rubbed is also great...

Darn fine rustication! Never seen it so nice!

Came in the mail several years ago, but similar hand rustication by Kirk of BS Pipes (no longer in business).

Well, I have been keeping quiet about this one, waiting to be sure it was set in stone, but I got the tracking number today for this beauty: A huge thanks goes out to Darin for tracking it down and getting me in touch with the seller. I know what I'll be smoking this weekend!
