Last night I arrived home from work and had a double whammy waiting for me. A box from fadingdaylight with a Snus resupply and, as if reading my mind, a Papas Fritas cigar to try. Many thanks, Jason! 😎 Then, a complete surprise package from RDPipes ... the rascal sent me a pipe! All I sent was some Escudo and told him not to send anything and just enjoy. Right!! Along with the huge bomb he tossed in a tin of Esoterica Dorchester too ... this isn't over, folks. 😉

I quit the pipes before the surgery and for two weeks afterwards. Just now slowly getting back into it. Didn't realize how much I missed it. Spent part of the morning cleaning and admiring some of the nice ones I have accumulated since returning to the fold in October and congratulating myself on how my collection makes it unnecessary to add any more pipes for quite a while. Plenty of rotation and a very NICE rotation at that. Then those insidious bastidges at Smoking Pipes sent me an email bragging about the new selection of Neerups they had just received. Among the beauties was a gorgeous very large smooth bent brandy with beautiful grain. Up in flames went my resolve and I ordered the damn thing. (They only had one.) I guess one might say that weakness is its own reward. I'm trying to feel guilty but having a hard time of it.

Bob,
It was a smart move to curb your smoking pre-op and post-op. It isn’t debatable that nicotine is a vasoconstrictor which hinders blood flow to the areas that require healthy blood flow during the healing process.

The only thing that stopped me from buying pipes was running out of room to display and store them. Happy that you are recovering well.

I decided to give p&c another chance, ordered 2 1.5lb boxes of LBF and 2 pounds of Sutliff Virginia slices. Mainly because of the June calender deal, but also because they were the only one that had LBF in stock at the moment.
Now if someone whmould get some Full Virginia Flake back in stock, I would be a happy camper!

I was lucky to acquire enough to hold me over for a while. Will keep you posted if I see anything.

The problem I have with both FVF and St James (along with Best Brown) is that I have come to really enjoy them with a couple of years of age on them. I've been dipping into my aged stash but haven't been able to replenish what I withdraw, so in a year ornm two, there is going to be a Sammy G drought at my house!

Yeah, gotta be quick on those two. I've got 2 tins of FVF from 2019 stashed away, but taiguy66 always has me thinking about cracking into them!

I need to stash a couple FVF away when I can Walt sent me some and it was pretty darn good with some age on it. I don't know about St James Flake. I got a tin of best brown in the cellar.

I have some tins of FVF, Best Brown, BB#2, Mayor's & Bob's Chocolate and a few other offerings from GH/SG in the cellar. I try not to even look at them right now. Never tried the St. James Flake.

FVF and St.James F by SG are definitely my two favs. Yes… the longer they sit, the better the taste! Definitely worth cellaring IMHO.

Just arrived today, and wow it's smaller than I thought! Something that wasn't listed in it's description is that it's also a reverse calabash. If you are tempted, don't! 😜🤠 Too small to even consider smoking.
