Had to run a quick errand. Beautiful spring day, here in the mitten. Gonna be in the high-80s by Thursday. Looked at extended forecast, I don't see any highs in the 50s or 60s anymore. Summer might be here. On topic, Briar Fox in a MM Washington 5th Ave. But first, some lunch.

The sun appeared and it's quite pleasant for now. CD 3F in an Eaton, trying to keep Licking Dog away from his incisions. A gimp chasing around a pit bull must be entertaining for the neighbors. I'll have to put the Cone of Sadness back on his head soon.

Good Morning. Starting off with some Scotty's Pancake in a bent blue Falcon with a meer bulldog bowl with coffee. Nice to see you Ken. It's good to be seen. Hoping to be around for a while since I'm off the road for now. Trying out some KBV Burlier Morning Pipe in a Rossi Notte with a Sam Adams non alcoholic IPA.

As it happens, I'm about to light Escudo as well, though not aged gloriously, in a Stanwell HCA7 with short stem.

The Escudo is only about seven years old, so hide some away! Really nice so far.
Now for something completely different: Peretti Cuban Mixture in a MM apple Diplomat with acrylic stem.

May 17th I seem to have slipped to a later posting time for some reason... The rain and storms have been mild so far giving time for a bowl under the canopy. First bowl was adagio in the savinelli 515. The flavor is giving a good mix of perkiness and power making it a growing favorite for morning duty. A bowl of sunday picnic followed later in the ebony 107 spigot. with the rain a spigot is best for dumping moisture and there was moisture! So ending the day with the last bowl of Montford point marine in the ebony 107 spigot. This blend has been a fun flavor experience. I admire how well cornell and diehl blends tobacco as this has been very consistent from beginning to end and the flavor profile is unique and satisfying. I purchased a second tin of the series, tuskeegee airmen due solely on the performance of montford point marine blend. I have "high" hopes for the Airmen blend...(pun intended) We ordered some mason jar lids which took forever to arrive but finally I could try putting a newly opened tin in a jar! Pennington Gap is the first to be handled this way. It is well regarded as a great blend so I am curious as to how improvement comes from jars. The second is the adagio. I figured as it was opened and only a few bowls pulled out it could go into the experiment. My understanding is the sealed jar allows a space where the blend can "unpack" from the tin. settling moisture levels and mellowing toppings over time. Extending the amount of time a blend can sit while in use is important as well. the plastic lids do a fair job keeping blends from drying out but I have noticed some of my older tins getting drier before I finish them from time to time. Anyhoo, hope you all have a great week!

Good evening, Patch. The princess got me a weed eater the other day, so I enjoyed a bowl of C&D Byzantium in the sketchy RT bent Dublin as I read through the instruction manual. Still need to catch up on our devotional and some reading for school, so I may head back out to the barn for another bowlful.
