Good evening, Patch. The princess got me a weed eater the other day, so I enjoyed a bowl of C&D Byzantium in the sketchy RT bent Dublin as I read through the instruction manual. Still need to catch up on our devotional and some reading for school, so I may head back out to the barn for another bowlful. How's the new smoking loft/lounge coming along? The "Stag & Sickle" project has been on hold. I moved an old student desk up there so I can grade papers, but we have yet to reinforce the floor, install windows, or add insulation, which are the most necessary improvements right now. The couches and armchair already up there are comfortable, and I have a couple box fans for when it's warm. It's good enough for now, which is good, because it has a long way to go until it's finished.

A simply "Made In England" briar, great smoker. I still have the same tin you sent me Charlie but it is on top of that stack so I need to finish a few more blends in jars but I keep running into the same cheerful predicament so many people have sent samples and tins that I put the sample in a jar and lable it and the tin's I write the date and who sent it to me. When I am in a not so cheerful state and have an empty jar in my rotation I reach for a gifted tin. It always cheers me up thank you all for that.

The guy who put flooring in the loft/upstairs area used 7/16" (generally used for roofing) instead of 5/8". To make matters worse, not all of the sheets were laid true, so some of the nails don't actually go into the studs. As a consequence, there are some "soft" areas and much of the floor creaks in a most ominous fashion. I feel confident walking around, but not so much about the proposed bookshelves and pool table.

Or guests? It'll be something to see as it progresses. What a great spot that is to hide from the world.

Good. Just don't schedule any dance-offs. It sounds like you are creating a happy place there. How about "The Boar and Auger?" Edit: Or Augur, depending on ominosity level. As the Pilsbury Doughboy said, "Don't stop me now, I'm on a roll."

Coffee is ready, about to head for the door. Finally going to try the Vintage Syrian that isett2860 sent me, in a blasted Stanwell Revival 131. Edit - Wow. On the charring light I got the scent of wood smoke and incense. The flavor could best be compared to an underground cave at midnight during a new moon. All things dark and glorious. Love at first puff. Sadly, no longer available. Anyone know of anything close to this?

Good morning Patch. A MM Spindle with Charlie’s Chance. (The tin crumbs etc) Let’s see, some Hearth and Home Anniversary Flake, a bit of McB Vanilla Flake, Dunhill Nightcap, KBV Mycroft and the cigar cap cuts from 3 or 4 cigars. If I don’t post again, then you know it got me😝

May 18th. Rain persists for today but winds are low allowing the canopy to be put up for a nice dry spot on a damp morning. As I am avid flavor chaser I have several tins open at any time for variety and this morning was a fine bowl of Pennington Gap in the ebony 107 spigot. My what a nice blend!. chocolate mostly, milk chocolate specifically. some sweet molasses and soft tobacco round out the blend to my tastebuds. The bowl and smoke ended together (this is the phenomenon of being satisfied at the end of a bowl as opposed to a bowl ending and the smoker not fufilled or a high power blend that one dumps early) making this blend one of few with those traits. next on deck will be the x105 spigot with sunday picnic. the virginias in this blend keep me coming back to it and the perique mellows any bite halfway through a bowl allowing me a rare enjoyment. I suffer from burn easily and always favor untopped, non-aromatics as I am a daily smoker yet those blends tend to be heavy and dark or skewed to favor a condiment tobacco making them a bit boring after a while. So my enjoyment of golden or red virginias is limited by the vision of the blender. Virginia Flake (c&d) has an amazing flavor but more than a bowl a week and I have burns so not a good daily blend. flavor is pronounced and to my liking but bite and burn lurk for the unwary but I am crazy for the flavor..mmmm.. Anyhoo, I digress, with that I bid you all to have a great day!
