Some EGR in my Paterson with Earl Grey tea on the side. Extremely windy at the moment pushing the rain clouds north. Definitely jacket weather.

Shortcut to Mushrooms...a really terrific smoke, too bad it is no longer in production...just reminiscing. Next smoke is a bit of Crumble Kake Eng.#1...also a great smoke, this time in a GBD Virgin Canadian...a wonderful pipe experience.

The guy who put flooring in the loft/upstairs area used 7/16" (generally used for roofing) instead of 5/8". To make matters worse, not all of the sheets were laid true, so some of the nails don't actually go into the studs. As a consequence, there are some "soft" areas and much of the floor creaks in a most ominous fashion. I feel confident walking around, but not so much about the proposed bookshelves and pool table. Or guests? It'll be something to see as it progresses. What a great spot that is to hide from the world. I've had a few guests over. It's fine. I'll post updates and photos as I can. It is, indeed, my sanctuary.

Good. Just don't schedule any dance-offs. It sounds like you are creating a happy place there. How about "The Boar and Auger?" Edit: Or Augur, depending on ominosity level. As the Pilsbury Doughboy said, "Don't stop me now, I'm on a roll." It's "Stag & Sickle" because I have my grandfather's deer head and taxidermied racks hanging up, and when I was cleaning the place I found an old scythe. Technically speaking, it should be "Stag and Scythe," but that doesn't roll off the tongue quite the same way...

I had the right meter, just the wrong animal and agricultural implement.
