My meerschaum pipe arrived today, a day early. It has a great, comfortable mouthpiece and the right bend to hang comfortably in my mouth. Since block meerschaum comes from Turkey, it only seemed r right to have a few bowls of C&D Byzantium this evening while fishing & relaxing after our last day of school

Brakner's are every well made pipes, and the micro rustication is beautiful, the brand has flown under the radar, but the prices have jumped up as people are catching on. If you can scroll in to the fine detail, it is quite a labor of love to rusticate a pipe like this. pipedia.org/wiki/Brakner

Morning everyone. Starting my day with Erinmore with coffee on the side. Received a call from my dad’s long term care facility last night. He had a heart attack but is recovering at the local hospital. I’m back at rehab later this morning for my injured leg and won’t get a chance to see him until tomorrow. When it rains it pours. Sending best thoughts to you and your dad, Ted. Hope all comes as right as it can.

Crème Brulee in a Savinelli Porto Cervo 614 - with a little Irish Whiskey, which changes the flavor profile a bit, but not a bad thing.

Yorktown in my Old Dominion stack billiard, with two cups of coffee and morning meds...squirrels have found the bird feeder we have near our deck; it's reserved for the cardinals , but they're not likely to see another seed now... Sitting here ,tapping on my side of the French doors, and shacking my fist to run them off, I feel like the crazy old neighbor lady that everyone talks about!

May 27th. whew! finished my labors for wages in time to duck under cover of our RV's canopy as a blustery rain squall hit the local area. The cigar I chose was a bit big so not as nice of a smoke while weedeating as I planned. I do recommend the buenaventura prailine series as a nice cheap stick with some flavor. Speaking of flavor, Crooked Lane (C&D) is a road to the orient by my tastebuds. good mid power level for enjoyment over an entire bowl yet heady towards the end as I like a blend to do from time to time. Must be the few cigars I had recently, dialing in my tastebuds a bit. I seem to be picking out good flavors in blends I think I been missing. So with the work behind me, I am currently having some penninton gap in my old GBD 256 canadian. Mainly due to it being the driest pipe in the group and it is still lightly raining. My two spigots have been getting a workout with the crooked lane so I think a switch helps. Anyhoo, the P gap blend is my new favorite non oriental/virginia/latakia-esque blend. A bit bland if one has more than a few bowls in secession. I probably am a bit more sensitive to having the same blend too often. I noticed the effect with cigars. Having 20 of one cigar on hand quickly taught me to have five of four different blends or better yet four of five different blends..lol. So I do the same with tins. I normally have four or five tins opened and select opposing blends throughout the day. I find having polar opposite blends lifts the flavors of each other which I attribute to avoiding taste fatigue. And taste fatigue is something I want to avoid with a few blends that are my favorites. Anyhoo, hope all is well!
