June 19th. With the heatwave nearly over the mornings are cool enough for a good bowl. I just opened a tin of glp haddos delight. the tin note has a slight berry hint which reminds me of the other berry topped blend I have loaded recently. A flavor I personally have come to dislike. Thankfully once lit the top note disappears leaving a rich smoke. not sure if it is really the same topping as I am enjoying a bowl right now in the old gbd 256 canadian without a hint of the berry flavor. Regents Flake is another I have enjoyed this week as that blend has a good power level along with a good oriental base. From my sunday ride group I picked up some lane Q1 and BCA just for the room note.. It is nice to see non smokers enjoy having a bowl loaded with black cavendish around them..(and some of them are kind of grumpy so the room note has to charm them). I am looking forward to Sunday morning! Anyhoo, happy Juneteenth to those who observe.

Morning all. Starting my day with Afternoon Delight, Earl Grey tea on the side. Temperature expected to top out around 76-77F today which is unusual for this time of the year. Thought I’d get a couple in before it gets too hot outside.

Just returned from running errands around town and finishing a bowl of Hal O' O The Wind in an unfinished Savinelli 673, both from the pipe nook from a couple of years ago. Finally a little break in the heat, only 93 today, as opposed to the previous two days, 107 and 103 respectively. Usually we don't see these kind of temperatures until late July and early August.

Started the day with Haunted Bookshop and coffee on the front porch, to escape from the rain. Also had Bayou Morning, Mac B Club Blend, Three Friars and Double Down in a couple different cobs. Christened a new pipe, a MM Pony Express with longer stem, painted black, with Bayou Morning. Now smoking that pipe, with more Club Blend. Maybe Bing's Dark Horse?
