Couple days away from the computer. Nothing much changed in the pipe-smoking department. Started each day with Haunted Bookshop and coffee in the backyard. Progressed through more of the familiar blends through the course of each day. Evening smokes included ODF and Navy Flakes. Filling my Savinelli Bing's Favorite with GLP Six Pence, and catch up doings here.

Had a Legend full of Nightcap earlier. My wife actually sat in and had her little Cohiba cigar, which was nice.

Started the day with Haunted Bookshop in a MM General and coffee on the back porch. Cloudy and cooler today, rain expected. Heading to my Dad's house to help with clean-up. Will try to get a couple flower beds done before the rain gets here.

I was at 18 but Darin sent me two nice ones and now I am back to 20. The smugglers blues is now reworded to the pipe smokers blues too many opened blends.

Been visiting family in Buffalo since last week. It's been a constant go-go-go, which is fine because I enjoy it. Every night by the fire though, Uhles 300 has been a staple.

June 2nd. So yesterday I finally went and purchased my very first corn cob pipe. A simple missouri meerschaum small billiard with plain reverse cone shaped bowl.I have yet to fill it as it is to replace the GBD 256 canadian while I work. I am biting the vulcanite too much. I purchased the petite pete barrel for the job but it turned out to be too nice to use for the task. I also have been buying cigars to fill the gap which is not a wise use of small monies for someone with as much tobacco and pipes as I possess.. So in my searching I remembered a local cigar shop had a good selection of cobs and at 14$ I can abuse it at will! This mornings pipe is the estelli non pariel 9128 army mount with a nice full bowl of crooked lane. The pipe seems to bring out the best in orientals. I thought it might be a good virgina blend pipe but it just does not enhance them at all. Orientals shine though.. With cloudy skies and work in the morning I may break in the cob later today with some virginia flake (c&d) to shellac the bowl with a big dose of sugars. I figure the quick carbonization of a sugary blend will help with burn out. anyhoo, have a great day!
