June 30th. Rain is in our area for another day or so giving a nice cool start for the morning bowl. Haunted bookshop with extra Virginia Flake added. pipe is the venerable GBD 256 canadian. I have also found a quilty pleasure in Lane Q1. I use it and BCA to charm my fellow bike riders while I have some coffee waiting for the stands up order. The BCA is way too mild but the lane Q1 or 1Q? has body that develops mid bowl. It is still quite mild yet enjoyable so that blend is becoming a win-win for Sunday mornings. later today should find some delish black frigate in a pipe to be selected at that time. have a great day all!

This morning I smoked Cult Conspiracy. I am just trying to polish off this tin. While I found the blend enjoyable early on, over time and as I've smoked more different blends of tobacco, I've found it to be somewhat uninspiring as of late. It just doesn't seem to have a depth of other blends and the aromatic properties of it leave the finish wanting. It is like loitering at a doorway, just confined while neither being in nor out of some type of enjoyment.
I will most likely finish the tin against the wants of my deeper desire.

I'm smoking a mildly aromatic blend of rum and vanilla with a burley backbone...leftovers from my night of jarring and remixing. It's a mellow, but flavorful mix ,that behaves nicely in the bowl, and holds it's flavor to the end of the smoke. Sadly, I couldn't make this again if I had to, but I'll smoke it while I got it! The current pipe is a handmade freehand from Kaywoodie, and the beverage is water with some fruity Mio in it.

Just jar up the remainder and let it sit for a couple years. Maybe you'll get back around to it. Maybe time on the shelf will emphasize some of the qualities that initially endeared it to you. I would not recommend gritting through and finishing off a tin just for the sake of getting it over with. Life is too short to smoke a tobacco you don't enjoy. I'm using some of the earlier tobaccos I bought to introduce a mostly-aromatic smoker to the joys of English blends.

Country Squire 50th Anniversary in my Victor Rimkus bent Brandy with turquoise inlays. This is my first time trying this crumble cake VaPer which is made by Sutliff for Country Squire. I bought this tin last August and have letting it age a bit. It’s quite tasty.

Smoked Haunted Bookshop in a cob most of this busy day. Now, I'm finishing a bowl of Three Friars in a MM Great Dane Spindle.
