Fired up a bowl of Presbyterian in an unnamed acorn. Getting a little grief from the peanut gallery but should get over it because it 63 here and all the windows are open.

Good choice, awesome smoke! I have a tin in the cellar but this came from a member with a good bit of Stonehaven. It was at the house when I came home from a little trip I needed to take after a very difficult night at work. Roger that brother. Left you pm. Cheers…..

McClelland's Frog Morton Cellar in the Peterson Deluxe System 20FB. Iced tea on the side. Thanks for rubbing it in Ron. Being a “newbie” (no… can’t say new, perhaps junior?) pipe smoker I missed the boat on that one. Cheers brother……

A 3/4 bent rusticated Geppeto filled with Hal O' The Wind tonight. A Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy on the side. Listening to Biltmore Radio and watching the sun go down.

Missed the McClelland boat here, too. Probably better off not knowing what these tobaccos were like.

Started the day in the backyard with coffee and Haunted Bookshop. Also, smoked Six Pence, Six Pence mixed with Haunted Bookshop, Three Friars and Bayou Morning. Now, I'm just finished up a bowl of Match Victorian in a Medico Crest Pot.

Haunted Bookshop in my MM Bing's Dark Horse/Black Beauty. It's a MM Pony Express, painted black (cob and shank) with a brown-stained rim, with longer black stem.

Missed the McClelland boat here, too. Probably better off not knowing what these tobaccos were like. In my opinion, their unobtainable status is inflating their perceived quality quite a bit. I enjoyed some McClelland blends in the past, but also didn't enjoy some, and none of them just knocked me out.

Happy birthday Herbert, hope you have a great day. Thanks Charlie, the wife took my beagle to the groomer yesterday, so at least one of my best friends would smell good form my birthday, and the little guy is so sharp and clean that he wont even speak to me now . Once he remembers who passes out the Milk Bones around here, things will get back to normal. I don't feel a day over 66...except I do seem to take more naps than I used to

First of all Happy Birthday Herbert! 🎂
Getting an early start to my day as temperature expected to top out at 84F today. After discussing SG blends earlier, packed FVF and Balkan Flake to keep me company while at the office.

June 23rd. Well the past week or so has been a whirlwind. Hot days kept me at the cigar store with a few evenings where a pipe could be enjoyed. The cob has been the star for bowls in the heat but a surprising contender is the petite pete. The thin walls must allow it to run cooler than the other briars. So that was a fortunate discovery. But it seems nothing can perform beyond a certain temp and humidity level no matter the construction details. I think the lower tobacco is roasted too much causing bitterness and loss of flavor. My other big event is finally pulling a tooth that has been tormenting for better part of a year. I am unable to go to the dentist. it is part horror movie part torture chamber and I simply find it easier to pull my own. So in a wonderful moment I finally am rid of the pain!. 8 teeth in 15-16 years. So this morning with a song in my heart I dumped the last half of haddos delight (glp) in the trash and opened my one tin of C&D black frigate. The haddos contains a berry topnote similar to some other blends I have tried and dislike but the top note would fade early but a biterness would appear and ruin the bowl so out it went. (as expected, some will get thrown out as I test new blends) The black frigate is very nice and I am glad I took a break from the odd blends returning to flavors I prefer. Blockade Runner is a very nice blend and I have nearly a pound on hand for the fall season and now I am going to have to add stock of black frigate as well. they just get those blends right for some reason. Hope all of you have a great week!

I enjoyed some McClelland blends in the past, but also didn't enjoy some, and none of them just knocked me out. I’m an unrepentant McC fan boy. They did have several blends that I didn’t care for, especially their bulk aros. However, I found them unsurpassed when it came to aged straight Va and VaPer blends as well as a few full English or Balkan blends.
