Had a nice lunch after a fun day at the office. Got even better when someone kept dropping off free pitchers of beer. Home and on the patio with Consummate Gentleman to keep me company.

Had some Haunted Bookshop and Bayou Morning in the Wednesday cob while running errands and visiting Dad. Starting to put dinner together and smoking Orion's Arrow again. Misspoke earlier. While similarities to other C & D burley/Virginia's are there, the Turkish component sets it apart. I like it.

coming to the end of this bowl of Creme Brulee, just had relight. Really sublime sugary flavor, like donut glaze, for just a couple puffs on the relight then back to subtle caramel and cinnamon notes. This is good stuff...

first bowl of Lane Very Cherry (or Luden's, whatever). I bought 2 oz of this for Hobbit's weed, but only used 1 for that. It isn't as strong in taste as it is in the tin, thank goodness.
UPDATE: didn't make it all the way through that....

Yes, the Orion's Arrow has a C&D fingerprint. Hey, I'm a Grateful Deadhead and I can enjoy 200 different performances of the same darn song. Newminster 701 Virginia in a MM Country Gentleman. There's something uncomfortably Freudian there. A funny story. I used to dispatch from Palo Alto headed to LA hauling a semi-load of beef...June of 1989. Shoreline park in next door mountain view Ca. had recently opened and I always hit the 7-11 at 2AM to grab java for the road. Unfortunately for 7-11, they were right down the road from Shoreline theater and was about the only game in town after a night of partying and in need of Cheetos. The deadhead buses pulled up as if on queue with my arrival, and they overwhelmed the one man staff. One deadhead was walking out the door with a couple of six packs under his serape and the clerk told him to Stop! so he dropped both six packs, the bottles breaking. At the same time a deadhead put a can of beans in the microwave, and it emitted a pretty blue flash, and caused the lights to fluctuate. Checking the records of Shoreline, there were 3 day in a row concerts in 1987 and 1989. Rough times for 7-11.

Dinner has been eaten. Sitting on front porch with a glass of wine (from dinner) and another bowl of Orion's Arrow in the Wednesday cob. Its not going to be an all-day blend for me, but its a keeper.

There was no better people-watching than observing straight people realizing they were suddenly surrounded by freaks. The overwhelming majority of us were harmless, but in any group of thousands, there were bad apples. Anyway, Lebanese hash in a ERR Match in a MM Legend.

As I don’t have Navigator, going to take a page from Pete’s playbook and start my morning with Haunted Bookshop. Great stuff indeed! 👍

Navigator is new to me. Tried some in a cob, now I'm gonna load a briar to see how it does.

Still working on the Navigator in a proper briar. Finding it is giving a much richer flavor than the cob. This has been my experience with most flakes. The pipe is a James Upshall lumberman. Good blend, but don't know if i need to cellar another Navy/rum flake.
