Just outside town sits an interesting little area not known to many, if any, folk. The only path is an old winding dirt road, a generous description as it is more of a critter trail, that seems to drive into the mountains themselves. Thickly lined with Spanish moss trees the "road" is almost invisible if you didn't know where to look. Much easier to traverse by foot or bike as a car can only make it partway.
The town has a curious and esoteric gimmick to it, whomever is leading the travels will be met with a boulevard of shops that specifically meets their internal wants. For instance, if the driver would like a Tobacconist with an ice cream shop on one side and a barber on the other, the boulevard would be arranged with these shops. I've no idea how it works, but the shopkeeps all seem to be similar people based on the type of shop and seem indifferent or unknowing of the towns abnormal nature.
A veritable treat for the budding tobaccomancer. A choice of aesthetic for the tobacconist as well as a choice in the surrounding shops and leisure is quite the gift. So, budding tobaccomancer, what does your boulevard look like? What aesthetic and offerings does your most desired tobacconist have in hand?

I'll think about it, but I was sold at ice cream and tobacco--the staves of civilized life.

I can't exactly describe it, but the tobacconist's shop would be done in richly stained hardwoods, the light would be fairly low. Freshly roasted and ground coffee would be available, along with a healthy selection of bourbon and scotch. Given the ever shifting nature of the place, I suppose whatever tobacco I am in the mood for at the moment would always be available. But I'll start with a bowl of Vintage Syrian, and a cup of that coffee...

I think Jason and I are hanging out at the same place, especially if they're playing Betty Carter in the background.

I think Jason and I are hanging out at the same place, especially if they're playing Betty Carter in the background. Coffee and tobacco are the best of friends. I can almost smell that shop. Imagine it would have one of those classic oversized brass espresso makers filling the room with a cacophony of espresso notes.

Well, it would also have a dark-paneled library with overstuffed chairs, a fireplace, and rare and first editions that somehow remain impervious to smoke. A smoking deck overlooking a rocky Maine coast would be needed for the warm months.
As long as there's ice cream next door, of course.

And a nice big fireplace, like something out of a medieval manor, on the inside, for the cold months.

And since we have control over the entire block, I think I'd like a taco stand somewhere very close as well.

At that rate, let's make the tobacconist's shop the first floor of that particular building. As it happens, he is also an innkeeper, so after a long evening of drinks and smokes by the fire, I can retire upstairs. Then hit the taco stand for breakfast in the morning.

Across the street a café with great steaks and pulled pork BBQ. Next door an old-fashioned drug store with a soda fountain. Next to that a 'we've-got'everything' hardware store. Then... a saddlery whose partner makes gunleather. An art gallery. A bookstore with reading tables. A well-stoked, knowledgeable gun dealer. An really good Mex restaurant... and the beat goes on.
Ooops— almost forgot... a real, old-time Irish pub.

A microbrewery/distillery would be a nice addition.

I like pie. And ice cream, of course. I think I saw a bakery just a few doors down. They specialize in pies and doughnuts.

A microbrewery/distillery would be a nice addition. It's between the steakhouse and BBQ joint. The steakhouse also has an extensive seafood selection. The bouillabaisse is awesome.

Since we're all stuffing our faces...there's gotta be a teppanyaki/sushi bar nearby.

Public Domain! 😁 I wish I had a copy of my first MIL's family on the porch of their depression era home. 14 kids in potato sacks. She had it framed and labeled Tobacco Road.

Ok, between the coffee, tacos, sushi and ice cream, I am now envisioning a very lavish restroom...
