Funny thing is, you should worry about a pack of Irish Setters; or a pack of any breed roaming without supervision. You just never know! I have been surrounded by a pack of Irish setters. They jumped on me and knocked me down and licked me until help came. Everyone laughing at me was the worst. And that happens with all breeds, but also the worst can happen with all breeds. All it takes is one dog in the pack to be aggressive and the others often follow.

What a noble little pal!
I’ve always enjoyed the fact that when you look up “friend” in a dictionary it never specifies that it has to be human.

Having lost so many sheep, goats, and geese to marauding dogs, mostly Pit Bulls. I will shoot at them on sight if on my property or on the road outside my place. I mostly rely on a Mossberg Slugster, open bore, 24 inch ported barrel, fixed sights and loaded with Number 4 buckshot with 00 or 000 further in the magazine tube. Too many houses and cars within range of a high powered rifle. A carbine with a pistol cartridge could work but I worry about down range if I miss the dog.

Buster finally got to the Vet today, and the good news is, he does not have Cushing's...he does, however, have severe bronchitis, and his lungs are really full of gunk. The Vet put him on some heavy Meds, to clear up his lungs and to help him rest...at the moment, he's more peaceful than He's been in a good while. The Vet commented on his nice coat and well we care for his eyes, but her next words were bitter-sweet to me...she said if we keep up the good work, he'll be with us two or three more years...Heck! Back home, in the old days ,we just threw some food in a bowl, and let them run lose, like wild animals, and they lived to be 16 or 17...Buster Brown lives like a king, and she's writing him off at 12 or 13!

Lacy had 4 broken and cracked teeth pulled yesterday and today she's hopping around like nothing happened. I wish I could live in the moment like dogs do.

My son adopted a pup about 6 weeks ago and found out that his job is sending him to Germany for three months in about a week. He and his wife visited for Easter and dropped off Ace for us to dog sit while they are gone. We think he is a Lab/Shepard mix, is cute and smart as hell and a pain in the azz. I forgot what it was like to have a high energy puppy in the house...
This is my life now. Ha!

It has been animal awareness month at work.
We have had 5 employees bitten in the last 6 months, 4 of the 5 either happened after the driver had already visited the house before with no signs of aggression, or the patient said "the dog has never attacked anyone".
Weird how some people think that restraining animals is some sort of cruelty...not most, but some.

No, Dogs of every breed and residence.
Going forward, if people cannot put the dogs in the back yard, put them in a room or crate, no supplies get delivered. It really is their choice.
Not just dogs though, any animals.
But one employee was on the res, not the patients dog but the neighbors, he went through the rabies treatment. Being a sovereign nation, nothing happens to the dogs.
