A fine looking pup, she looks like fun! She’s pretty loopy. That is the Labrador Retriever all over. For me, the perfect dog in size and temperament. Highly intelligent, loyal, gentle. I mostly seen them black or brown. I know there are yellow variety but I have no experience with them. A black dogs suffers so here in Summer. |

That is the Labrador Retriever all over. For me, the perfect dog in size and temperament. Highly intelligent, loyal, gentle. I mostly seen them black or brown. I know there are yellow variety but I have no experience with them. A black dogs suffers so here in Summer. They act exactly the same. My boss had a pair he would bring to the office and they were often under my desk. (I ate at my desk) |

My boss had a pair he would bring to the office and they were often under my desk. (I ate at my desk) My Lab girl and the one next door are or were chow hounds. When Woody comes over, I call him "Wood Nuts", he first raids the cat food dishes, then roots through my garbage pail, then cleans up what Izzy left in her bowl. By then he is ready for his dog biscuit which I always give to them. |

My Emma (female GSP) hated Labs. When we hunted with a partner who had a pair the contempt radiated off her like skunk. ”You idiots!” She was there to HUNT and they were there to have fun. Unforgivable!

The English ones are more reserved and dignified (and have a slightly different look), from what I'm told by people who've owned them. They breed for that, over there, apparently. |

Breed characteristics are the major reason to prefer purebreds over rescues. Unfortunate perhaps but true.

Lacy at 8 years old has fully come into her own. If I stay up after my wife goes to bed, she will come to get me. She stands behind my chair and barks until I get up and then she gets behind me and herds me to the bedroom, bumping me with her nose. She knows exactly how to get us to play with her and when she feels like chasing squirrels. She's finally fully housebroken, which if you know Yorkies you understand is hard. A year ago she could barely walk with hip problems but after 6 months on Librela, she is running like a puppy. I just wish they lived longer.

The lifespan of dogs is definitely an issue for owners. I have called it God‘s cruelest joke, but it’s certainly not funny for someone facing or experiencing the loss of a long time loved companion. True, it allows us to live with more dogs in our lifetime. Is that a benefit. Maybe.

What a rotten thing to do. Molly just came woofing at the front gate a few minutes ago and paid me another visit. Since we had that downpour mid-afternoon and she's very excitable, I got muddy paw-printed from my shoes to my neck.  |
