Goood morning Patch! It's the long weekend! I always think of the Married With Children Labour Day episode at this time of year. As my County & Cumberland 4111 Lovats (2014 & 2014) made it home, I will be smoking them today with some Royal Yacht. Enjoy the long weekend!

Starting the morning off on the porch with some G&H Bosun Cut Plug in a H. Wiebe full bent purple radiator pipe with blasted volcano bowl. Nice hot cup of coffee for this low 60’s morning.

Father Dempsey in my Basil Meadows Lovat. That's lovely. I think he's quit making pipes. I have one that I really like. The Bing I had him make for me was a fantastic pipe but we just didn't fit. Unfortunately, correct. After having open heart surgery in spring of 2020, Basil is no longer physically able to make pipes. This pipe was one of the last six available pipes that he brought to Columbus last month.

GH & Co. Best Brown Flake #2 in an MM show cob with blue acrylic stem as I head out to prep what was my potato/radish beds to plant more radish, spinach, lettuces, and carrots today. I'll likely be sizing up what's left of tomatoes and having to cut off the best green tomatoes, it's going to be dipping into the low 50s for the foreseeable next weeks. I just received the vinyl pocket deluxe edition of J.R.R. Tolkien The Hobbit and all three books of Lord of The Rings a couple days ago and I'm a few chapters into The Hobbit. I intend on mostly finishing the book today/tomorrow and starting on Lord of The Rings for the first time, never read it before. After I finish the series, I intend to go read Parnassus on Wheels and then The Haunted Bookshop. Hope to get through cleaning several pipes today, and several that I've never smoked.

an all black cavendish mix from a jar marked Dark Rum. Sweet ,but not overpowering, with a good rum flavor...no joy to keep lit however. The pipe is my Kaywoodie handmade, a large ring grain covered freehand.

Enjoy your journey through Tolkien’s masterpieces of literature. It was a great journey for me long ago when in high school, and one I would like to revisit… in the future with a pipe though.

Coffee and tobacco were discovered by a distant relative of mine...so far back that I'm unsure of his name, but I do know that his wife invented tea.
