hope all had a nice, safe Halloween. Supposedly more $$ spent on that holiday than at Christmas. In from full 2-miles power walks, no-band 6x42 for company. After the Ed is fed, Exotique in SerJac Maxima 1/8 bent bulldog & continue with the papers. A few errands to do later for da Mrs, Schwan delivery & some minor yard work in the plans
42, clear, headed for max of around 55

G&H Bob's Chocolate Flake in a WDC Hesson Guard prince...under closer inspection I found that the wood is a hardwood and not briar...pipe is from somewhere around 1920-1940's. Great lil smoker.

November 1st. So I leave the lid off the sutliff red virginia crumble kake over night and the vinegar is reduced a lot. I finally felt it had gotten enough off the topping and decanted the two large flakes in a jar. I left out a generous bowls amount to dry further this morning and finally filled the MM Cob. The vinegar still floats around a bit in the blend but there is a decent tasting tobacco under it all. I have a second tin purchased when I ordered the first (just in case it was good I would have a spare.) So it will get opened and dried then added to the other. Mid bowl as of the time of this post and the blend is giving reasonable service. Not going to reorder but not a trashbin candidate. I am somewhat confident a good dry and decant will bring the tobacco to the front of the profile. Quite an odd blend which had I not experienced the "real" highly matured citrus/vinegar taste component in other blends I would not notice the difference so much. I does have a reduced bite compared to some quality blends but I assume it is due to a higher sugar content of the better aged blends. That said, I will stick to other blends for this particular type of profile. Yesterday ended being a big jacknife plug party. Had a few tall shots of evan williams 1783 single barrel and used my spigots instead of the big Castello.. I am hoping for some good sales to crop up so I can lay in some more bulk tobacco as we now head to Thankgiving and Christmas. Anyhoo, hope everyone is healthy and happy!
