It's very cold, windy and raining/snowing all day here. The first few hours it was thick, wet flakes. Mid afternoon it switched to rain when it got to about 36 degrees Fahrenheit and should switch back to snowfall overnight.
Will be finishing off some 2012 McClelland's 221b Honeydew Flake in my RDP blasted bulldog.

November 14th. My Sunday ride was too cold and wet so I slept until the Sun peeked into the window. (about 8am) we are going into a weather pattern that dictates I get out on the spyder rt only if needed and this morning was an example. So I have the petersons ebony spigot 107 billiard on duty for the day. Some Epiphany, I wont reorder this blend but it is still decent. Last of my jacknife plug was great, such a nice blend. And this evening it is the remaining good portion of sparkplug.. despite my enjoyment, this blend probably wont make my current reorder list. gotta let all those first run tins get discovered. the second gen version is superb but I dont want to waste funds chasing which tins are good or not.. anyhoo, a solid three bowl day! Having the chill drier air has brought my pipes to life so plugs are my go to in these conditions. Hope All are well!

2016 was the year that C&D offered a recall because there was some issues with mold, I kept my ten tins, rolling the dice. I am glad that I did, this tin really delivers the goods. In a '52 Dunhill Tanshell.

In a '52 Dunhill Tanshell. The Sansepolcro is really excellent. It's got a good bit of strength that can creep up on you so be careful with that one.
I kept all my Red Flake tins that year but I dried my first tin opened before jarring since I knew of the issue.
Had enough for 2 bowls from the 2012 McClelland Honeydew Flake so have the second bowl in my same RDP blasted bulldog. Have to sit it down and smoke something a bit cooler on the tongue for now though. Two honking bowls of straight red/mahogany has me feeling a little bit of the "Virginia Tongue."
C&D John Marr in an MM Rob Roy Legend cob.
A certain reselling male horse down in Texas is trying to sell 16 ounce bags of Hoggarth Kendal Kentucky and Kendal Dark from 2020, for a whopping $225 per bag. Mind you, both of these are in stock at SmokingPipes as I type this. $55 a pound.

He's usually pretty spot on with his prices, as you can tell from the number of "sold" tins. You can always ask him as he's easy to talk to.

To my dismay while rifling through the cellar I shook a 2001 tin of Gallaher's Rich Dark Honeydew only to discover the lid had no seal and was fairly rusty. The neat little plastic bag of perfectly nestled in flakes are bone dry and teeming with white crust but otherwise ok. I will have to do a very gradual rehydration and carefully place the bag of flakes whole, into jar with hydrostone. Huge bummer though.

That's no good. Hope you're able to recover most of it. I've never even heard of Gallaher.
