Home after my weekly lunch date with mom so you all know what that means! Home now enjoying SG FVF as my dessert. Hope you’re all having a great day. Hope you and she are doing well, Ted. Difficult time.

taiguy66 It's really good. I'm surprised by this one. My first blend I made was great, then I had a few failures. I forgot about this one and just found it the other day. I hope I remembered to write down the recipe. I have a VaBur stewing as well. That one can sit a little longer.

November 17th. After my esoterica blow out yesterday I jarred the rest with just a touch of moisture on the lid of the margate which is almost too dry. I figure a drop wont cause issues and make up for transport and jarring loss. Anyhoo, back to the last of the c&d Epiphany and the last of the pegasus. both did not make the reorder list but they were decent enough. I am looking forward to getting back to the lighter blends. I have some cobblestone Rook that has been in a jar for a few weeks, some nice SPC deception pass that I almost hate to light. Over a year in the vault and some weeks in a jar has made that blend blossom. Being colder these days means the burley takes over for outdoor bowls so some briar Fox has been resting for a few weeks as well as my ad hoc blend. For now, being inside the garage is allowing the virginias and orientals to continue to work well but on a walk in the brisk mornings it is always burley. Anyhoo, I learned there will be a pipe show in Webster Groves Mo. on Febuary 12th 2022. I am a distance from it but well within range of a day trip. I am excited to meet vendors and hopefully some pipe makers with fun products. Hope All are well!

I figured I better buy one to try fresh, and at least one to cellar. Depending on my likings, I'll then know what to cellar. I'm starting out late this morning with some Riverboat Gambler in an MM Mark Twain cob. That’s my approach to something new too. Pop and jar the tin. Have bowl. Not ready yet? Then set the jar aside and periodically sample until ready. For my personal preferences, I’ve found in general that any Va centric or English blend made in the C&D needs a minimum of 12 months in the can. A few I like younger and a few end up needing 18 months. Yorktown I was surprised to find good factory fresh. I think the stoving contributes to that. Crooked Lane, an extremely under the radar blend needs 18 months before it really melds and shows it potential. That’s probably why it’s so under the radar as people try it too young and don’t go back to it.

A few bowls of Sutliff Duke Albert through an MM Mark Twain cob. This stuff smelled pretty great and cocoa'y fresh, but I've neglected 2 oz of it sitting out in the bag it came in, for at least 10 months now. It's dried, but it's still pliable from all the propylene glycol and has lost much of the flavor. Has almost zero nicotine to it, and all told, has me questioning restocking any of this blend at all as I prepare a bulk Sutliff order.

2016 Haunted Bookshop in the Thursday cob. Thanks @zach for the samples you sent me. First few puffs tells me that time has been kind to this blend. I guess I'm going to have to hide some of my stash for a few years, so I don't burn through it so fast.
