Some Elizabethan in my RDPipes morta bulldog:
That is a sweet looking pipe. I love how the grain forms a diamond shape on the shank.

A cool calm sunny morning in New England. Starting things off with some G&H Dark Birds Eye for the first smoke in my new RD partially Blasted Rhodesian with spalted pecan cap. Hot cup of coffee. This is a beautiful and great smoking pipe. I love how the stem mimics the three color contrast of spalted pecan, yellow stain, and dark blast of the bowl. Aha, you bought that one. That pipe looks great.

Thanks, RSD. Ron does good work. Like everybody else who owns one of his pipes, I recommend him.

That is one handsome Canadian, John. Congrats on finding something that nice from a specific year! Thanks! Full disclosure: I wasn’t specifically searching for a 1987. It was an enabling rationalization when it caught my eye. 🤪 Best of all, it was a really good auction win. Besides being in the unpopular date range, the auction ended the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Historically, I’ve found the best times to win great auction deals is near the major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas or right after a major pipe show.
