I don't understand how those tins are $7.69 a piece in that 5 tin sampler of all the Cascadia, while they're still selling them for $15.29 per tin otherwise. Seems to me if you like these at all, you just buy like 5 or more of those samplers. Why would anyone pay $15.29 a piece? I understand the sampler is likely limited, but that's an insane discount selling all 5 tins for 50% off.

Having missed out on the first drop, I managed to grab a POTY 2021 (486/500) a couple weeks back. This is a shape I truly like. Just wondering if anyone else managed to get one?

The Bandidos have arrived today. I figured before you wind up spending a fistful of dollars I outta give you the good, the bad, and the ugly on them.
The packaging: I thought it was neat the cheroots come in burlap and they're totally stitched closed, here pictured as they arrive. It's a deceivingly small bundle.
They're all individually cellophane wrapped within. A nice touch.
The mouth ends are lightly sweetened with some cheap and typical dab of sweetness.
I'm a quarter way through one as I type this, and overall I think I'll be completely satisfied with how these taste and the low end construction for the pricepoint. On sale at P&C, these were 50 or maybe it was 52 cents(?) a piece, and they only come in bundles of 60. The taste is, an unapologetic drugstore cheroot, much like a Swisher or a Backwoods, but higher quality tobacco than that of a Swisher by quite a margin. Sure, for a few dollars more you could maybe do a bit better, but I think these were a great deal. They're just what I was looking for in a cheap little putz-about yard cigar for a shorter smoke. They're a nice full and stout smoke at that.

Or something else? the shape is not good, it's concave on the front. The drilling isn't anything to write home about either. I've been smoking my old 309, which is perfect. I don't think that the new owners have improved anything.

I've been smoking my old 309, which is perfect. I don't think that the new owners have improved anything. Mine is well shaped. Based on the ones I bought since Laudisi owns the brand (close to 20), there have been improvements when it comes to the drilling to the tobacco chamber. I have noticed less fills on their smooths but for one which I will talk about soon. But that's pretty much the extent of the improvements I have noticed. A few observations: - I have had excess stain issues with 5 smooths I owned, including the 2 POTY Heritage I bought. One also had no less than 4 big fills on it. Which is scandalous, considering the price they were asking for them. Yes, Peterson got a big piece of my mind about these two. - Their pre-coat tends to taste really bad during the first 3-4 pipefuls. - I don't know what they use for briar but many of them (espeically the Sherlock Holmes series) ripped my mouth off upon the first few pipefuls and it automatically stops there, for me. - Their blasts are often and increasingly out to lunch as the shape becomes often deformed. Incidentally, and it's no coincidence, I only have 1 Peterson left and it's that POTY. And I will not display too much patience in determining if I'll keep it, or not.

Most of my Petes are over 20 years old. Most of my newer ones are OK. Peterson's are very hard to break in, but it's worth the trouble. I always thin some honey with rum to wipe the inside of the bowl to kickstart the break-in. It makes a huge difference.
