Mine is well shaped. Based on the ones I bought since Laudisi owns the brand (close to 20), there have been improvements when it comes to the drilling to the tobacco chamber. I have noticed less fills on their smooths but for one which I will talk about soon. But that's pretty much the extent of the improvements I have noticed. A few observations: - I have had excess stain issues with 5 smooths I owned, including the 2 POTY Heritage I bought. One also had no less than 4 big fills on it. Which is scandalous, considering the price they were asking for them. Yes, Peterson got a big piece of my mind about these two. - Their pre-coat tends to taste really bad during the first 3-4 pipefuls. - I don't know what they use for briar but many of them (espeically the Sherlock Holmes series) ripped my mouth off upon the first few pipefuls and it automatically stops there, for me. - Their blasts are often and increasingly out to lunch as the shape becomes often deformed. Incidentally, and it's no coincidence, I only have 1 Peterson left and it's that POTY. And I will not display too much patience in determining if I'll keep it, or not. Most of my Petes are over 20 years old. Most of my newer ones are OK. Peterson's are very hard to break in, but it's worth the trouble. I always thin some honey with rum to wipe the inside of the bowl to kickstart the break-in. It makes a huge difference. It's possible. But it shouldn't be so hard. Peterson really stands apart, on that level. In any case, all my Dunhills have smoked, from the very first pipeful, like they were already broken in. That's one reason why I like them so much.

I get it. US prices, I wouldn't either - I wouldn't be able to afford one, and this is not counting in what the federal and provincial governments would bill me futher in customs. UK prices? Much more affordable, especially with 16.5% knocked off the price advertised because we're not in the Euro Zone: www.smoke.co.uk/acatalog/4103-Dunhill-Cumberland-Group-445620.html245 GBP/299 USD, brand spanking new Dunhill. Or in Italy, with a further 15% off when you register an account at Alpascia: www.alpascia.com/en/product/50819/dunhill-county-4110296 EUR/311 USD, still brand spanking new. There are Petersons that cost more money than that. Just saying. And I'm sure mine will last as long as your Peterson.

It is clear we agree to disagree, and it's quite fine with me. I owned a higher end Peterson (de luxe natural) and I can't say it smoked wonderfully. So, really, it's a matter of personal perception and experience. I never wanted to pay for a Dunhill, before last year, but kept being disappointed with the great majority of what I bought. So I gave the brand a try and don't regret it. I would rather have much less pipes but smoke all of them because I enjoy all of them. You love Petersons? Great, that's what matters, you found a brand that makes you happy. Hang on to them and enjoy them, mate.

My Peterson Deluxe System 20FB is probably my best smoking pipe. I have a couple of dozen Savinellis that smoke as well as I could wish, but I rarely smoke them. I actually don't have any issues with any decent pipes, but I know that other people have a much different experience. My one Dunhill is 71 years old and smokes just fine. But not but not better than my $60 Savinelli or my $125 Peterson. $300 is the most I've paid for a pipe. It was a very good pipe but I sold it to a friend who wanted it more than I did.

2 tins of Warped St. Espresso
Intriguing enough to try, but I hadn't even realized it was limited to only 3k tins when I made the buy. I was initially going to wait a few weeks and it appears listed on the site like it's just a normal, new addition to the Warped lineup.

Got two new Forever Stems today which I was looking forward to since I have been paying attention to my cobs since I started smoking more burley/so called codger blends. I got the nice gold ferrules as well as you can see. I also received a pound of C&D chopped cigar leaf for blending projects, 8 tins of Uno, two more blends to continue my re-exploration of tobaccos I smoked in the 1980's, Holiday match and Sutliff RL-PR, which I never smoked and I don't know the history of, but I was curious. Also Iwan Ries three star blue some more Mixture 79, which I am really enjoying. I also received two pounds of Watch City Slices to put away. Lastly three tins of Commodore Flake.

I'm loving the orange/black Forever stem and dark orange swirl I got, and the 14k gold filled bands. Really makes the cob look and even smoke better. I got 3 of the Uno tins but it's so good I kinda wish I went for the 8. I have about a pound of the Mixture 79 in the cellar and will need to get back to it sometime soon as a hot summer morning smoke with outside coffee. Never tried the Three Star Blue, or Commodore Flake.

Never tried the Three Star Blue, or Commodore Flake. I instantly loved my two cobs pictured after I put these stems on, I only kinda liked them before. Really looking forward to smoking them now, the draw seems perfect and the stems are so nicely made. Three Star Blue is one I would recommend anyone who occasionally likes a old style American smoke to at least try a pouch. It's not the end all, be all but it has a certain charm to it that I find endearing. The Commodore Flake is new to me, I haven't tried it yet and probably won't for a while, many waiting in front of it in the line.

My 7th Pete is on the way. Another House Pipe, as I found one even larger than the one I already have.(They vary quite a bit.) My House and Pub pipes are the best smokers I have. Having two Houses might be too much of a good thing. (But I doubt it!)

Other than a bruised foot and purple toe, it isn’t bad at all, we will see how it goes at work this week. A local run tomorrow, then off to Cortez Colorado, Tec No Pos on the rez, and on to Show Low where I just got back from.

I banged my small toe on a wall corner, in the middle of the night, going to the bathroom. Besides the color, It was obviously broken as it took 6-8 weeks to fully heal.
