You are a sick person, you need to reassess your priorities and spend more on tobacco.

I banged my small toe on a wall corner, in the middle of the night, going to the bathroom. Besides the color, It was obviously broken as it took 6-8 weeks to fully heal. Mine is practically back to normal, I attribute it to smoking Sherlock Holmes Peterson pipes. Glad they are helping the healing process.

My 7th Pete is on the way. Another House Pipe, as I found one even larger than the one I already have.(They vary quite a bit.) My House and Pub pipes are the best smokers I have. Having two Houses might be too much of a good thing. (But I doubt it!) Oh, dear! Oh, dear! My new House pipe arrived today. Alas, it is not the pipe I thought I had ordered. After I ordered the original House I found an even larger one on the Smokingpipes site and asked them to change the order, which they did with speed and efficiency. That pipe was detailed as having a “bore and stroke” of 2.21x.85”. (I like BIG pipes.) The pipe I rec’d today was 2.01x.828”. Quite a difference. I wrote them my disappointment and they answered promptly with “people make mistakes yaddayadda.” I have decided to keep the pipe as it IS a big pipe (just not as big as I wanted), I love Petes, and it is a very nicely finished pipe. But I would warn my friends here not to trust Smokingpipes details re dimensions. Based on my experience they are NOT to be relied on. PS… I started the “break-in” just now with a half-bowl and it’s going to be a fantastic smoker. So there’s that at least.

I am wary of the Yeti knockoffs, so many seem to look like a Yeti but pale in performance. not a big fan of Yeti prices… Reading the reviews, this one looks like a winner. Looking forward to your opinion, Hoss.

This one keeps it for a week.

Read the reviews and they were real stinkers.

I realize that when I read that a Sytem 2s is 47mm high and only 31mm deep. That would not be very deep for a stummel that high.

When I was looking for a better lunch box I saw the Frosted Frog and they had the same pattern to the designs in the plastic figured they was the same outfit that made our big one so I figured it was good.

“Their measurements are approximative.”
When they are given to the 100th of an inch I take them as exact, or to be perceived as such.

“Their measurements are approximative.” When they are given to the 100th of an inch I take them as exact, or to be perceived as such. Bob, I agree that if they want to be 'scientific' about it, they should deliver. But, when they get thousands of pipes every week, it's easy to screw up or just fudge it, precision be damned. So they revert to the 'I'm sorry (but I really don't really give a shite)' game when you call them on it. I asked, the other day, a photo of a pipe seen from the front. I was unsure how the pipe would look with the blast which seemed to be digging a bit too much to my liking. I was basically told they don't have time. They have never told me such a thing before. Of course, this is the wrong answer. They don't have time for me? No problem, I will act accordingly.

With that and specific measurements they do suggest that it's going to be accurate. However, I know that in taking multiple measurements with a caliper it's easy to write the numbers down wrong.

Exactly. What a boring task at that! At least, the pipe you see (unless it's a cob or a clay pipe) is the one you get. And that is good.

So this did NOT come in the mail, but I just got it even thought I have owned it for seven years. Last year I decided to renovate/restore my home from top to bottom so I moved into one of my rentals to make it easier to work on my home. I have owned this property for seven years, it was built in 1947 and I bought it from the son of the original owner who grew up and lived here until I bought it. I got it full to the ceilings with stuff, including a wonderful workshop, but that's another story. Anyway, I was out in the garage looking for a pair of clippers and I looked up and there was this empty (there was some tobacco dust in the bottom) tin. Aside from the scuff on the rim, it looks nearly new, no rust at all. I thought it was a fun find and a great display item. They sure don't make tins like they used to. Funny thing is that right next to where this was in the garage is a big red pegasus that was removed from a 1940's-1950's Mobil gas station that I look at every time I go in the garage, I just never looked next to it.

Arrived yesterday. Thinking of popping one to sample since it's already aged leaf, and since I can jar up one mason jar for deep in the cellar and one as a go-to jar.

Mine should arrive on Monday. I needed to add something to the order to get free shipping. So, I added a pipe that has been sitting on my wishlist. Yes, I have a new pipe arriving three days before I leave for the Chicago Show… I haven’t enabled someone else's pipe purchase in a while and got hit by my own superpower.

Now that you mention it, I'm not likely going to make the Chicago show due to my grandma's extended hospital stay, and then shortly thereafter during it I also have to help my best friend move a bunch of his furniture and things. The Palmetto Balkan is interesting, but need several more bowls to dial it in.

I know quite a few Chicago regulars who won’t make it this year due to it being a bad weekend for them. I do know that Tom Eltang is going to be there. So, my 12th Eltang made pipe may be in my near future…
