Two of the Stanwells that I ordered arrived in the mail today. 😎 First up is an unsmoked(!) registration number era Stanwell Bamboo Billiard. When I showed it to my wife, her comment was “how could anyone have let such a pretty pipe go unsmoked?” A full set of pics can be found in this album: imgur.com/a/EatPS00 Very sharp!

This one said "buy me," my bank account disagreed... until midnight when my check is deposited 😁 Was the first tobacco I've bought in a couple months, but I wanted to snag at least a few tins of this.

Stopped by at Vasco Cigars, while in Montréal, and picked up a tin of Solani Virginia Flake (new neutral labeling). I won't be picking up much. Even the C & D and Seattle Pipe Club tins are sold under the same format as the tin of Solani I picked up (European-style vacuum-sealed tins)..

Five tins of Sutliff Crumble cake No. 4 (Dark fired Burley with Virginia aged in a bourbon rye barrel had me) Put back for a few years…

Still waiting for my package from Germany to pop out of US Customs. It was last seen a week ago today leaving Frankfurt on a plane.

The "I Survived Summer 2022" pipe has arrived! Came in this kinda nifty, soft leather pouch. Snaps and a leather thong. I guess he's a belt-and-suspenders kind of guy. Apologies for the lighting. It seems the iPhone doesn't do fill flash:

Thanks, Pete. I'll have to think about what to inaugurate it with. And also find some time to do so.

Beautiful pipe Urb!
I hate tapping my foot waiting for customs to clear. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes I just cross my fingers and hope they didn't lose it. I'm glad it's moving John. Now the USPS wait begins

Now the USPS wait begins Yeah, in the "Before Times", I’d usually have packages clear Customs in about 3 days. Since then, it seems to take at least a week. In May 2020, I had ordered one of my Eltang bamboos from The Danish Pipe Shop. That pipe sat for about two weeks in Customs. That one was a nervous wait. At the time, I was suspect that they were quarantining packages for a week before processing. Luckily, the USPS wait for it to come from New York to Michigan is short. It will be here tomorrow. It just missed getting here today as it arrived in Grand Rapids at 6am this morning. My mail goes Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo to here.

This package was a quick ship as it got ordered on Saturday and was shipped from eastern Pennsylvania on Monday.

And today’s package has arrived. I really like that we get morning mail delivery. The karmic balance for that is that the UPS route goes past here at about 4:30pm.

My package from Germany has finally arrived!!! 17 days in transit, but worth the wait! This new to me registration number era Stanwell Golden S 22 is the new crowning piece of my Stanwell collection. For anyone unfamiliar with Danish Stanwells, Golden S is the EXTREMELY rare absolute top of the line from Stanwell. So rare as to be almost mythical. I’ve only seen one other and that was in pictures on Pipedia. With the burst of Stanwells that I have bought in the past few months, I now have 21 pipes in my Stanwell collection; 18 are Danish (7 are registration number era) with 1 Golden S, 3 Silver S, and 1 Flawless. 😎 A full set of pics can be found here: imgur.com/a/PIQFosv

Woohoo! Glad it made it johnlawitzkeI'm not sure what it is with Stanwells, but I really have a thing for them. I almost bought 2 more this week but they jumped above my price range in the last 30 minutes of bidding. Congrats on that rare beauty!

I really didn't need another pipe, but I got a good deal on this one. It's a very old Kaywoodie (guessing 1930s) Meershaum apple.

A tobacco order arrived today. Bulk bags of HB, Three Friars and Pegasus. A couple tins of Capstan Blue and a few tins of Haunted Bookshop Cake. Will open one later, maybe. The rest will nap in the cellar.

This only makes 6 cans total. 😎 A couple weeks ago, I had pulled out my open jar of Palmetto Balkan to see what it's like after a couple months. I’ve found that I keep reaching for it. So, while I had a chance to buy two more cans, I did. 😀

15 pouches of Amphora Original. 25% sale at JR Cigars. I'll jar it and use it for some of my 'home brew' mixtures. Currently digging 50/50 Amphora and Peterson Irish Dew.

I've been leaning more and more towards straight pipes lately. I am also a fan of saddle stems, so I was happy to find this Savinelli 114KS Punto Oro. Looking forward to my first smoke with it.

Been wanting to add a nicer pipe or two to my collection. Had my eye on this one for a few days. It'll be in my hands by Tuesday or Wednesday.
