Hence, my breaking my self-restricted no buying rule and stocking up on Pease blends on the 20% off sale.

The G.L. Pease? Just adding one more of each of many of those. By the time I crack open a new Telegraph Hill, or Embarcadero at the 1 year mark I'll have 5 tins of each cellared. Staged to age! I've gotten to where I don't bother with 2-oz. tins of GLP blends. Speaking of: 8 oz. Laurel Heights 8 oz. Blackpoint 8 oz. Quiet Nights the Cavicchi prince All just arrived. Gonna have to eat some crow with Silver on the arrival date. Enjoy, urb!

Browsing through smokingdollars, I knew I wanted to pick up 5 tins of Presbyterian and I wanted to pick up one tin of an aro. I couldn’t decide between Molto Dolce or Peterson Sunset Breeze. I ended up with 2 browsers open, one with Sunset and one with Dolce. I guess I wasn’t paying attention and somehow placed both orders, which means I paid shipping twice for no reason. That is almost 2 tins worth of shipping. I am such a dope! Well the upside is that I have 1 1/2 lbs of Presbyterian, one Pound of Father Dempsey, 1 1/2 lbs of Wilke Crystal Palace, 5 tins of Balkan Sasieni. And then there is a bunch of other tobacco. I think I need to lay low for a while. They've done this thing where they do say a 15-25% off a select brand, and then later that evening or the next morning release a special limited release. I've been there where I bought a full $100 order to get free shipping, then they release a limited edition Mac Baren that evening or next morning and I find myself them also ordering only a few tins of that and paying shipping anyway.
urbino it would make more sense at this point to stock deeper and more savings to go with the 8 oz tin route, you're right there. I don't often like opening the 8 ouncers for some reason but it's not like I can't just jar it right away. I think only Haunted Bookshop do I really have numerous 8 ounce tins cellared. I only buy the 8 oz. cans when bulk bags aren't available. I only buy the 2 oz. cans when bulk or 8 oz. cans aren't available, or when trying something new.

The 8 ounce tins also have the added fancy of liking to explode once they've got 5+ years of age on em. At NASPC last summer a guy had an exploded 8 ouncer of GLP Telegraph Hill he was passing around. He brought it intending to open it at the show and share it anyway, but just jostling around in the car it happened to explode while he was driving. With Pease being only in tins though, I'd likely age them a few years before opening and jarring, or jar some immediately into 3 or 4 individual aging pint jars.

Not in the mail, but I went to a recycle dumpster at Ulta cosmetics to get some boxes with proper dimensions for shipping. I found a 20 slot tin/jar rack that if I choose to can drill and corner mount on the wall. I never knew they carried tobacco cellar accessories!

A trick to drilling holes in plexi glass is to spray rubbing alcohol on the spot you want to drill before drilling it softens the material so it does not crack. Seen it done years ago worked pretty slick.

Thanks, Ted.
I drilled plexiglass before and it did not crack, but based on what you say I am sure that I was lucky. Thanks for the tip, I will heed your warning.
I wish I was in the plexiglass business pre-Covid, they must have made serious money putting up shields, they appeared quickly.
One contract with Albertsons or such…. Easy street from there on out.

My garden tractor that I ordered last October finally came in. Delivered in a 53 foot trailer in my driveway in a crate the size of a small camper. An hour with the reciprocating saw, another 2 hours to assemble and check it out and it was ready to test. Like a Cadillac after my old one.
