Santo Domingo and Majestic Elephant.
I'm not sure if it's the humidity in GA, or the lack of air pollution in Phoenix, but my snuff smells a bit different here.

It's probably both. I find differences--subtle--in different places and seasons. I was amazed pinching after a seaside dinner back East. Fascinating stuff to me.
It's mostly HDT this afternoon. And a little Aztec.

I've noticed I like Indian snuff more in the humidity, than the desert. But I like dry snuff more in the desert.
I just found my long list tin of Princes Special while digging through the closet of wonders at my dad's. So, THAT.

Weird innit?
And I've been trying to simplify my life with cleaning and bringing stuff to Goodwill and I've found more lost tins than I'm happy to admit. SPs and Toque's scented toasts have lost their magic, but a can of Garrett was good as new. And that one was under the bed behind a dust bunny the size of a Giant Rex. What, you thought I was June Cleaver?
Anyway, WoS French Carrotte circa 2018. It happened to be in a tight tin, so it's pretty good.

I was packing some Red Label Black (wut?) in the nose holes and looked at reviews. One said it smells like a woman's purse. This is a circular comparison, as my bag usually smells like snuff! I'm easily amused.
Maybe it's funny to me because tobacco reviews have so many flavors* noted, but other things have "notes of tobacco." What’s up with that? Meh, I know what I like.
* "incense" is my favorite. Like...what...copal? champa? strawberry? seabreeze?

I really like Red Label Black. When I think "indian snuff," it really checks all of the boxes for me.
Reviews never work for me unless they're very basic. That goes for pipe tobacco too. Just tell me "sp," "menthol," "rich," "barnyard," etc., and I'll figure out the rest myself. We all smell and taste things differently.
My favorite description ever is for Old Paris. "Old ladies and leather." My mind always wanders to "Old ladies IN leather." Shhhh... I'm ok, I promise.

I read reviews for entertainment value only. I don't get Madagascar vanilla, charred Wagyu, Stachybotris, dodo feathers, or whatever John Q. finds. And Old Paris is a top ten for me, but I'm an old lady.
Toque Quit to cleanse the palate.

I keep Old Paris on hand. It takes me back in time to a place I've never even knew.

I get that with OP, totally. It is deceptively complex and pulls a lot of triggers.
Not snuff, but get this: when I smoke Ennerdale, I get the impression I'm in the past looking at an even earlier time. Seriously, like I'm smoking with Sir Walter Scott, looking at a ruined castle, and discussing Ivanhoe.
My therapist assures me I'm sane.

Am I the only one who thinks WoS Bee M is a funny name? "I love a little Bee M in my nose?"
I won't grow up. I just won't and you can't make me.

Howdy doody! F&T Morlaix. It's good, but not as great as I remember. Maybe that was the WoS iteration.

I've been bouncing between Bernard's Klostermischung and Jubilaums, as well as Wilsons Ani plus lately. Celtic Talisman is also in the rotation. I find that I have a preference for the schmalzler style snuffs, so will probably add a few more of that style to my next order.
I have yet to open the tins of F&T Bordeaux, F&T Old Paris, or Wilsons Grand Cairo that I have.

Klostermischung is a favorite. I love Schmalzlers. Regensburger Pris is a little fruitier. Give it a try.
Well. Anyway, I just saw a fentanyl OD outside my door. Luckily we had our phones in hand. Dude was blue when the EMTs arrived. Two hits of naloxone and he was up and off to hospital. Twas scary, Mary. I know what to do when an animal crashes; people, not so much. We're soothing our nerves with Best Dark and various Vikings in front of the World Series on the tube.

P.S. I think I might start carrying Narcan in my purse. Heroin is rampant 'round here.

Probably not a bad idea to carry Narcan, I cover a lot of miles, see a lot of people in funky environments.

Damn, no cigs = screwed up spelling? Or is it because there's enough nicotine in my body to kill a small village?
It's not bad when I decide to quit. I've seen many turn crazy. Even when I do pick them back up, they don't control me. Some days I'd smoke 20, some days just 1.
Between snuff, pipes, cigars, and pouches, it's not a nicotine thing for me.

So I haven't had any snuff in a while. I've been wanting some for those times when I don't have time for my pipe. I tried my hand at grinding my own tonight with some dry tobacco I have in a baggie. It worked ok I guess, but homemade snuff makes me sneeze more than the stuff I was buying... Ahh well... For the curious; I ground it by hand against a busted grinding wheel I have. Cracked it in half installing it so it's never seen use on any other material. I just rubbed the tobacco on it till it was a powder and sifted that through a Tea screen. I'm going to research additives to buffer it and make it less sneeze worthy.

Being totally dry might be the cause. A little moisture should help that out. I'm not sure how much you made, but a few drops of distilled water should help out a ton. It won't fly up to your sinuses as easily.
When I used to take snuff breaks, I'd always sneeze when I came back to it. It's not always the snuff itself, just the act of sniffing powder up your nose.

It's pretty dry, an somewhat course ground. Ive added a drop or two or water and a pinch of nasal salts as I saw in an very old Gawith and Hoggart video on the subject that they add salt. Still experimenting, I need a real grinder, this stone and rubbing with my fingers is for the birds!!
