Never saw him in The Shootist, saw the John Wayne version which I really liked. Thanks! Will look for it. He was in the John Wayne movie "The Shootist". Maybe you could watch it again. The Faro Dealer who makes the record shot early in the movie and is one of the three guys Books shoots it out with at the end. I remember him dealing faro, but Wyatt and Doc both did that for spare change.

Background art work. Five stars out of five. Wow! I could have sworn that God was responsible for that! I dunno, I call him Jesse!😉

All my nephews did this in their teens and early 20s. They walk like they are 80 years old now.

Growing up plenty of my years rurally in Kansas, Colorado, and Texas, I was around a lot of rodeo’s and competitors and never saw an upside personally to breaking horses and riding bulls. As a spectator, I like watching Bull riding though.

Watched INTO THE WEST (2005), a six part series about… well, the West. I was suspicious. But also pleasantly surprised at the accuracy of many of the episodes. (There are only six.) Particularly their re-telling of the Grattan incident, which was spot-on.
BTW, the young boy that plays Speak (later named George at Carlisle, episode 5) was a champion hoop dancer. He was killed last year (at age 30) in an accident. If you want to see some spectacular dancing look up NAKOTAH LARANCE. Well worth it. So sad he is no longer with us. There is now a championship event in Taos named for him.

I believe he was a lieutenant, John. The most dangerous animal in the West during that period: a Lt. fresh out of West Point.

I watched the documentary on John McAfee and had no idea what a whack job he was! Is that thee one who created the anti-virus programme? Yes ... currently still a multi-billion dollar company too! The problem was that he also did a lot of hacking into private matters and had dirt on some people in high places. Genius doesn't combine well with paranoia and lots of drugs, apparently. Lol

Watching the first episode of "Dark Winds". The Navajo Nation police drama set in 1971.
Interesting story of murder wrapped up in Navajo lore.
Central character is played by "Tribal Chief Matthias" from "Longmire". Good actor. Zahn McClarnon. Still just as edgy with White Men like FBI Special Agents. Back in 1971 the FBI was not real popular in Native country. Not that they are today, either.
Good show!
