I watched the first series of the Good Doctor. We really enjoyed it. It's a very good show. Having an autistic son named Sean, we really get it. It is based on a show from South Korea.

Been watching American Restoration reruns on TV, it is amazing to watch Rick and his crew restoring pretty much anything under the sun.

Anyone watching "The Outfit"?
Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies, Wolf Hall, ) is an older English Taylor in 1959 Chicago. Tied loosely to a criminal gang. I see possibilities but wonder.....

"The Patient" on Hulu ... good start so far. +1 We watched the first 3 episodes last night. What a crappy position to find oneself in.

This comes out Sunday night. From the trailer, I suspect that Ken Burns will tell the story about the complicity of the NYT, that story needs to be told to people that are unaware of it.

Over the last two nights I watched MANHUNT, a Brit 4-episode series starring Martin Clunes. It’s about the attempts to catch a decades-active serial rapist and burglar. One of the most realistic and interesting police procedurals ever. Say what you will, but the Brits do it WAY better than we do. I highly recommend this one.

I couldn’t agree more, British crime dramas are more about the story than American ones.

Their Smiley's People miniseries remains my gold standard for spy procedurals.

Their Smiley's People miniseries remains my gold standard for spy procedurals. I think that actors like Alec Guiness that served in WWII bring something to the table in their acting, having faced real danger, they had something to draw upon when performing. Alec Baldwin did stub a toe once, there is that.

Watching for the first time since 1959, "The Adventures of Robin Hood". The English made B&W TV series starring Richard Greene as Robin of Lochsley. Holds up surprisingly well. I never missed it when shown on a small TV on Sunday mornings long ago. It was quite popular and became the source of a few parodies.

Watching Britbox. A new season of Shetland, and first season of Crime. Good stuff. And Trailboss said, "British crime dramas are more about the story than American ones." Yup

Yup Pretty much every show they make here is a soap opera. And shows like Law and order tap into the politics of the day, whatever law or issue they don't like, they make a character that is in favor of that law into the spawn of Satan...when in reality there is no evidence of people like that. But they claim the moral high ground as they prove their case, if they fail to convict, they show us the failure of the law they disagree with. Criminal minds has sadistic people skinning kids alive in a dungeon, while the computer rat can instantly bring up a date you changed spark plugs on your '63 comet back in 1969. Glad to hear that there is a new season of Shetland...it always makes me want to plan a trip.

I think that I have a spare Roku unit around here somewhere, Ted. Let me know if you want it, we are fixing to start downsizing by having a garage sale. If you have Wi-Fi, it is simple to set up, and if you only pay for channels that you choose to.
Cable/ satellite is way back on my rear view mirror, all I have is over the air and the channels I subscribe to. Me and family members share accounts on apps, so it is pretty cheap compared to anything else out there.

Also watching “The Patient”. It is very good so far. Binging the recently made Lost in Space. I was surprised that it is watchable in a lazy sort of way.
